QTZ IS BACK! Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 16th from 11AM-5PM! We’ll be at AS220 as part of the Providence Queer Arts Festival, accessible this year in the Main Stage and Black Box Theater.

Black & Pink @ QTZ!

We’re teaming up with Black @ Pink to get zines to LGBTQ+ prisoners.

If you like a zine and want to give it as a gift, consider purchasing a copy for an incarcerated member of Black & Pink*. For people in prison, including solitary confinement, a zine can help lift spirits, connect people to community and let them know they are not alone or forgotten. Ask any vendor which zines of theirs can be purchased for Black & Pink members. You can buy a copy, and Black & Pink PVD will pick up your gift and send it to an inside member.

*Black & Pink is an open family of LGBTQ and HIV+ prisoners and “free world” allies who support each other. Our work toward the abolition of the prison industrial complex is rooted in the experience of currently and formerly incarcerated people. We are outraged by the specific violence of the prison industrial complex against LGBTQ people, and respond through advocacy, education, direct service, and organizing. 

Dear wonderful humans of Providence, QTZ needs folx to volunteer and/or host out-of-town exhibitors! The Queer/Trans Zinefest is organized by a small team, so we need all the help we can get. Volunteers will help with set up, exhibitor check-in, distributing food/water, and fest close-out. As a volunteer or host you will get a QTZ bandana, a screen printed event poster, and maybe some other goodies! 

Queer/Trans Zinefest (QTZ) is a small works fair on June 17th is Providence, RI celebrating the creations of queer, trans, and gender non-conforming artists. This event is a part of AS220’s third annual Queer Arts Festival, which takes place from June 16th-20th in downtown Providence. It is free for both exhibitors and the public.

QTZ Fest is organized by a group of queer artists and teachers currently residing in Providence. This is the first year of the fest and we look forward to organizing future events :-*
