rhaenyra and aegon came to power in vastly different circumstances, she inherited a destabilised regime with an empty treasury amidst a civil war so reducing her narrative down to well actually ☝️ they're both incompetent isn't it funny how they're both incompetent is such a vapid take and it's to be expected from the fandom that has always made twee girlfailure posts about cersei. but the show going for this reading... i suspect they were genuinely attempting to portray her as a tragically overburdened ruler but due to a combination of several writing decisions such as the sudden comedic tone shift, not letting her make any decisive choices regarding the war at all and outsourcing all the morally dubious work to daemon and mysaria instead - which really just leaves us with scenes of her weeping and panicking - it's possible they don't get how incompetent and pathetic she appears to general audiences

#everyone in this show should be 5-10x more competent #and 5-10x more evil
