Hasan al-Basri, may Allah have mercy on him, said,
“Every day in which Allah is not disobeyed is an Eid (celebration). Every day the believer spends in obedience, servitude, remembrance, and gratitude is an Eid.”
Ibn Taymiyyah رحمة الله stated:
The heart was only created for the remembrance of Allah.
(مجموع الفتاوى [٩\١٦٧.١٦٦])
Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said : "If you reflect on the seven that Allah will shade under the shade of his throne the day there's no shade except his shade; you'll find that they only reached that by disobeying their desires."
● {ﺭﻭﺿﺔ ﺍﻟﻤﺤﺒﻴﻦ ١/٤٨٤}
It is reported that al-Hasan, may Allāh have mercy on him, said,
‘Son of Ādam, when Shaytān whispers to you, enticing you to commit a sin, or your soul desires to commit it,
remind yourself of what Allāh has burdened you with of His Book which,
were a mountain to bear it, it would have been humbled and broken.
Have you not heard his saying,
“If we had sent down this Qur’ān onto a mountain, you would have seen it humbled, crushing to pieces out of fear of Allāh.
We make such examples for people so that hopefully they will reflect.” (Surah al-Hashr (59):21)

Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:
“Verily, there is a Paradise in this world
and whoever does not enter it now
will not enter the Paradise of the Hereafter.”
[Madārij al-Sālikīn | 1/452]
Shaykh Muhammad Sālih ibn ‘Uthaymīn رحمه الله said:
“One way to remove hardness of the heart is to engage in a lot of reading the Qur’ān with contemplation,
and while you are reading to be aware that this is the speech of Allāh,
the speech of the Creator of the heavens and the earth, not the speech of a human being.
When you do this, you will recognize the greatness of this speech and benefit from it.”
[Tafsīr Sūrah Al-Anʾām Ibn ʿUthaymīn, pg. 224]
Imām Ahmad (رحمه الله) said,
"When one wants to perform an action, he should struggle with himself (so that his) aim is not to perform it for the sake of the people."
(Jami’ Ulūm wal Hikam, pg.13)
The Qur'an is a cure for what is in (people’s) chests;
it removes whatever the devil has cast inside them of surreptitious suggestions, lusts and desires, and corrupt wants and wishes.
So it is a medicine for what the devil has brought about of (evil) effects inside (people's hearts).
[Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah), Ighaathah al-Lahfan, 1/181]

Hudhayfah b. Qatadah رحمه الله said:
“If you obey Allāh in private, He’ll improve your heart, whether you wish for it or not!”
[Sifat as-Safwah (v. 4 p. 270)]
Ibn Qayyim (rahimahullah) said,
"Just as there is no life on earth except with water,
likewise there is no life in the heart except with knowledge."
[Miftaah Daarus-Sa'aadah 1/168]
„You will not find comfort except in obedience to Allah“
Imām Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله:
“Seeking knowledge is from the greatest Ḥasanāt (good deeds),
and the good deeds remove evil deeds, so it is deserving for seeking knowledge to be for the sake of Allah so that it may remove past sins.
As the religious texts have alluded to the fact that following a sin up with a good deed erases that sin,
so what about the best of good deeds and most honourable of obediences?”
[Miftāh Dār Al-Sa‘āda 1/77]
