“I’m sure Pepper didn’t do it on purpose…” Anila said, still trying not to laugh. “Shouldn’t you be in the Fire Nation anyways? I thought this was just more Fire Lord stuff.”

  “I’m making a small detour on the way.  Not like they can do anything without me - I am the Fire Lord, after all.”  

Just saying that made his stomach churn.  New responsibilities...great.  He was already seeing his old life disappear in front of his eyes.  Hopefully this surprise visit would give him some of the courage he needed.  

   “Avatar Korra!”  Who knew he’d be meeting his girlfriend’s previous life in his first real trip to the spirit world?  Or was this just her spirit?  Yeah, that was probably it.  

“You know it’s funny… I seem to recall a hot headed firebender doing exactly that while I was training… Did I mention he also tried to kiss me after arguing with me for a solid hour?”

“I --- that was one time.  Got the message that Avatar training comes first.

“Sure, and I’m definitely not busy, what saving the world, and training my tail off so that I can be at the world’s whim. Nope.”

Was she being serious right now?  It was nice that his girlfriend had finally been able to attend one of his matches, but it wasn’t like he could answer her questions right now.
