Pyro the Dragon

I love doing the art exchange that the Steddie BB holds every year to keep artist busy before claims weekend, and I'm so, so happy to be paired with @the-winged-doe this time around, because the lineart ze handed over is absolutely gorgeous. Pary based Eddie on an angora goat and Steve on a white-tailed deer, and the piece is inspired by Nymph and Satyr by Alexandre Cabanel. I hope I've done it justice with the colors! And please, go check out the wonderful colors Pary added to my lineart here, I was blown away by the summer haze conveyed with the color choices!

As promised, here's another post of art I did for my first Steddie Big Bang 2025 (@steddiebbang) author trinipedia! Her piece 'Floating Above a Static Sea' is up on AO3 for your reading pleasure, and I loved the enigmatic seaside atmosphere of the story so much that I had to do some portraits with the big main piece. Story Summary: Eddie Munson never meant to curse the sea—he was just angry, lost, and tired of feeling like he didn’t belong. So when something actually happens—a gold-chained sea dragon washes ashore—Eddie thinks, maybe the sea finally listened. Then Billy shows up. Moody, mysterious, and way too pretty for someone who refuses to explain anything. And not long after, Steve arrives—smooth-talking magician with a secret agenda and eyes that won’t stop watching Eddie. Things get weird fast. The dragon turns human. Billy gets sick. The town starts falling apart. And Eddie? He falls in love. Then loses it. Literally. To fix the damage—his own and the sea’s—Eddie has to make impossible choices, confront the truth about who he is, and decide what kind of love he actually wants: the kind that burns you up, or the kind that stays. Myth, love, and longing crash like waves—and sometimes, the only way to move forward is to let yourself be pulled under.

I've always loved pedalo boats, especially the ones in fun animal shapes, and got this image stuck in my head that Emily was able to bring to life with gorgeous colors. I love how she does backgrounds, and the water reminds me so much of jelly candy. I highly recommend commissioning her if you can, though you can really only catch her on twitter.

The 2025 Steddie Big Bang (@steddiebbang) hosted an art swap again this year, and I was paired with @otternil! Here's Stevie visiting mechanic!Eddie in the shop. I enjoyed working on every part of this except for the BMW, lol.

Story Summary: When Steve and Robin are given dual offers aboard the Talos I, it appears to be everything that they could’ve dreamed of. The Talos I is legendary in the neuroscience field for pioneering the ability to rewrite your brain, and for being the only corporate hub built around a satellite hundreds of thousands miles out in space. Cutting-edge research, a place of prestige, recognition as the best and brightest in their fields. For Steve, it’s everything– the perfect fuck you to the Harrington lineage, and the ultimate pinnacle of a long and exhausting career as the best that private security can offer.  Even with unexplained electrical outages across the station, or Eddie Munson’s startlingly vicious vendetta against him, Steve’s determined to take it as the victory that it is, even as it becomes increasingly clear that everything aboard the Talos I is far from what it seems. He’s no stranger to secrecy, and even manages to wrangle something like a tentative truce out of his most prickly, but surprisingly compelling, coworker. Just as quickly as he finds his rhythm, though, it all comes crashing down around their ears. In reaching for the stars, Talos I– and the evasive Dr. Brenner– have found quite a few secrets among them, some of which prove lethal– and hungry– when they escape containment. With nobody coming to rescue them, it becomes a race against the clock– he, Eddie, and the handful of remaining survivors will have to set aside their differences to find a way out and off of Talos I without dooming the rest of the planet.  Or each other. 

Story Summary: Eddie Munson, front man of wildly popular metal act Corroded Coffin is flabbergasted when he's contacted by the legal team for a very well-known DJ. The anonymous, masked, TeeVee is the biggest name in EDM right now. He stays hidden under a kitschy helmet, and according to people in the industry, it takes signing mountains of NDAs to even get near him. And now, apparently, he wants Eddie involved in his latest project. Fireball follows the story of Eddie Munson, a pretty boy he meets in a bar, and the massive secrets the pretty boy keeps hidden under his fabulously styled hair.
