❝  if  i  knew  how  to  take  my  time  back  ,  i’m  pretty sure  you’d  be  the last  on  my  very  long  list  of  people  who  wasted  my  time. ❞  &  she would  feel  less  of   the  burning  urge  to  fight.  why  did  it  bother  her  so  much  that  he  didn’t  seem  to  care.  it  was  pathetic  —  to  be  chasing  after  some  sort  of  sign  that  she  wasn’t  a  complete  fool.  yet  ,  maybe  this  was  t h e  sign  she  needed  more  than wanted.  she  was  after  all  stood  in  front  of  her  ex  without  a  good  enough  reason.  shaking  her  head  ,   paige  brushed  a  perfectly  manicured  hand  down  the  front  of  her  shirt  ;  dusting  off  the  fabric.  she  shifted  her  attention  to  something  behind  him  rather  than  directly  on  him.  ❝  i  fucking  hate  you  for  destroying  what  i  thought  we  had.  but  then  again  ,  i  must  be  wrong  because  if  we  had  anything  at   all  worth  a   damn... ❞  forcing  her  lips  shut  as  the  words  started  to  flow  on  their  own  accord,  she  shook  her  head  to  dismiss  such  ideals.  she   wasn’t  here  to  give  away  information  that  he  didn’t  deserve  to  glimpse.  paige  couldn’t  seem  to  help  her  thoughts  ,  though.  a  mile  a  minute  when  her  mind  was stuck  on  something  &  if  she  didn’t  entertain  the  analytical  side  of  her  thoughts  she  would  just  be  plagued  with  the  what-ifs  anyway.  ❝  what  could  i  possibly  want  you  to  say? ❞  her  eyes  rolling  ,  arms  crossing  over  her  chest  as  she  shot  him  a  look  full of  disdain.  ❝  i  mean  ,  it’s  not  like  it  matters  what  you  say  at  this  point.  god ,  really...  all  i  want  right  now  is  to  punch  you  in  the  throat.  but  i won’t. ❞  not  that  she  was  too  much  of  a  lady  or  anything  remotely  nice  ,  she  was  just  more  in  the  mood  for  a  strong  drink  than  ending  up  in  jail  for  assault  or  something. 

nodding absently as he spoke, she couldn’t stifle the soft sigh when she spoke. ❝ yeah, maybe. ❞ but that didn’t really help or absolve her of the issue at hand. unable to keep her nervous energy from surfacing consistently, her fingers moved to tap against the fabric of her pants. his words pulling a look of surprise from her and she felt speechless for a few moments. ❝ i don’t know. ❞ she frowned, the femme reaching to grasp the necklace tucked beneath her sweatshirt. ❝ i can’t go through the same thing again. ❞
