not once had atticus considered himself a jealous guy, simply lacking the bother to actually care on a deep enough level. but as he saw them making their way up the second floor stairs with some guy clearly not him, something unfamiliar snapped within, like a switch being turned on, or off, and in the matter of seconds he found himself consumed by anger, his whole body fueled by jealously spreading like venomous poison through his veins. he can barely remember getting up on his feet, much less stumbling his way upstairs, his mind in a haze as he reaches the top, somehow in his drunken state able to navigate through the right bedroom door at first try. though his vision is fairly blurred by liquor, the sight is as clear as day as the scene plays out on front of his eyes — the two entangled on the bed, a stranger’s hands roaming the body he believes to be his to touch only. immediately he feels his surroundings darken, his fists clenching to balls of rage by his sides before he lunges forward, grabbing the poor sucker by the collar and slamming his body against the closest wall. purely driven by anger he starts forcefully swinging ; again and again and again until his fists goes limp at impact and his body tire, only then noticing the trace of blood dribbling down his own chin.
