what is wrong with Carrie Bradshaw?

i’ve been in a sort of psychotic loop trying to get a lot of artwork done so i’ve been putting sex and the city on as a way to keep my brain occupied. In this binge i’ve found the more i listen to this womans endless questions about love in the big apple the more frustrated I become.

she’s very independent and puts down Charlotte for “believing in fairy tales” but the minute Big gives her a phone call all her morals melt away. Big is probably the least appealing love interest i’ve ever seen in a television show. Every time she sabotages another relationship they wheel him out so Carrie can have someone to smoke with. I mean Aidan was so lovely to her, and instead of accepting it she yelled at him for being available, got mad at him for being unavailable, and then cheated on him with the biggest man-baby in New York! I rarely if ever sympathize with men but christ on a cracker Aidan was so good to her and she just threw him away the moment she wasn’t getting enough of a “spark”. My hatred of her was cemented when she went on a few dates with that bi-guy though. Literally every conversation she had with him was “so is that guy sexy? is that girl sexy? am i not sexy?” the early 2000s was just a bad time for the bi’s.

All this to say that for all for journalistic inquires she never actually did once turn around and look at herself. She never thought to investigate where her attachment to Big came from. She never thought to challenge her beliefs about sexuality. She never stopped judging her friends for their choices and picking at their insecurities.

This mini-essay is a goodbye letter to my binge watch. Its not good for me anymore. I cannot watch this women make the same mistake over and over again while being the supposed “voice of reason”. I simply refuse.
