We missed our ride to Bontoc where the 3pm bus to Manila was due. We then tried our non existent hitchhiking ability, exactly after exclaiming that hitchhiking in the Philippines is an extremely rare occurrence this man and his wife stops their vehicle and offers us a ride to Bontoc.
