wild to me that ppl think of cheyenne as an i married myself kinda girl when she's so not. our intro to her is on an ecoterrorist mission where she cares so much about everything she can't understand why other people don't. as soon as she gets to new york she wonders how to speak to people in a way they'd understand (it does not work, but she very much is trying). she meets a young girl who wants to dance and makes it happen. she starts teaching her ballet classes because she thinks the students deserve better even though she doesn't believe any of them will become dancers. she knows that finding the right dancer matters so she finds gael and brings him back to the company. anytime jack asks something of her she delivers - she delivers even when he doesn't ask but she knows it needs doing. everyone has made everything about dance for her to the point that when she's struggling and she's afraid she will no longer be able to fill that perfection for others she feels as if her life is ending.

ok I love to be cynical and wary and alternative, but enough joking around. when are we as a website going to get serious about Étoile. they finally made something centered around ballet that is for adults but isn’t horror. it has everything you could want. banger soundtracks. amazing dance sequences. gay people. specifically that gay autistic choreographer and that gay french dancer who’s obsessed with himself and also with the choreographer. an aggressively intense french ballerina who lurks in dark corners eating string cheese, has no filter, and wants nothing more than to kill every billionaire on earth. charlotte gainesbourg failgirlboss artistic director of your dreams. it’s really so good.

étoile is a show about subjecting autistic people to sudden change and then dealing with the consequences. among other things.

Ohh is that why i enjoy it

thinking about the fact that tobias takes all season slowburning towards the realization of his feelings towards Gabin, but once he processes it and he understands it then he just acts immediately. Once he has an inkling, he immediately flies home to break up with his ex and in the same way, once he's sure he just straight up kisses him. No hesitation, no fucks given, just laser focus on what he wants. That is SO tobias I think.
