The past little while has been super weird for a lot of us. Idk about you guys, but I’ve been in isolation for almost 2 weeks and it’s getting pretty boring. SO, I decided to create a challenge that includes your sims being in quarantine for their entire lives to help our own quarantines be a little more fun.

MAIN RULE: DO NOT LEAVE THE HOUSE. EVER. Don’t even go on the front porch. Just don’t do it. We are assuming the entire sims world is under lockdown and everything is closed.

Starting rules: You must begin with only one sim in the household. Traits, aspirations, and gender are left open but you must create a young adult sim. You can take the easy route and make your sims loners, or you can make it more difficult by selecting more active traits like outgoing/loves the outdoors. Up to you. 

SIDE RULE: YOU GOTTA WASH YOUR HANDS. LIKE ALOT.

Home/Money: You are allowed to spend all of the money that your sim starts with. You are free to build your home however you like and own whatever you like inside of it. However, no money cheats are allowed in this challenge. You must earn all of your own money.

Work life: You must work from home. You can earn your money in whatever way possible as long as you do not leave the house. Creating things to sell is accepted.

Social Life: You must get creative in the way you make your relationships. You can write a pen pal, join a club (you’ll automatically gain like 4 relationships from the club, without having to actually even meet them), or find any other creative means of meeting people without leaving your house. NO ONE is allowed to come inside your house until your relationship with that person is very high. You are still allowed to hire services, and you can interact with them once they come in your house, but you can not invite them back over as a friend until the relationship is high.

Love life: Once your relationships with other sims have become high enough, you are able to invite them to your home. Your love life is whatever you want it to be. You can marry if you want, but again, it must be from home. You can invite other sims to live with you, however, once they move in with you they must follow the same rules. They also cannot leave the house, must work from home, etc.

Children: You can have as many, or as little, children as you like. Any children you have must follow the same household rules of this challenge until they move out. Once they move out they are free to live however they want. But, they cannot go to school, and must learn all of their skills from home.

End Game: You complete this challenge when your sims dies, of old age or other means. You successfully complete this challenge when your sim has lived their entire life in isolation and followed all the rules up until their death. Once your original sim dies, if they have married, their spouse will carry on the isolation until they also die. The children will carry on this isolation until they move out or die.

me after work:

1. take all your cc and mods out of the game. maybe play with only a default skin & eyes. play with a light & bright reshade. the game will look like how it should. you won’t become overwhelmed with building, making sims, making over other sims, and you can just…. play. and you should. just play! make a backstory or don’t make a backstory for the sim. the charm of the game is still there! (and once it gets a little boring, you can add your cc back! makeover the houses you’ve build and the sims you’ve made. make a post showing the difference.)

2. go back to a sim you were passionate about. even if you lost their tray files, remake them from memory! even if they don’t look the same, it’s okay! post them once or twice. post them ten times a day.

3. purge your mods folder. clean up your tray folder, maybe even start some new saves. switch up your defaults. change the way you organize stuff. sometimes it’s good to get a fresh start.

4. take breaks. dont play the game for too long. the sims is just one of those games that will get old super quick. it’s not a bad thing, since taking breaks is 100% very important anyway.

5. take some portraits & have fun editing them. try something new! don’t worry about likes. we don’t have the energy for that anymore.

6. watch some videos about the sims. whether it’s speed cas, speed builds or just something silly, these always get me in the mood to play sims. watching gameplay of challenges gets me in the mood too; if you were anything like me, you remember seeing challenges on youtube and wishing that you could play them too… well, now you can!!! go back to them! watch videos from 2012. you started playing this game for a reason!

7. makeover old sims. whether or not you’re completely happy with them! change up some skin details, give them a new haircut. dress them up in a style opposite to their current one.

8. makeover your blog. makeover your cc finds blog. a fresh start helps! sometimes it’ll motivate me to do more with my blog when i have a shiny new theme or page!

9. make a character page. or maybe just write out some character stuff in a .txt document. or don’t do that at all. sometimes it’s fun to make silly oc’s for no reason. you don’t have to do anything with them!
