Oh! Was that...? It was!

The other dex holders had been off doing their own thing as of late, hadn’t they? Not that the Healer terribly minded - they were their own people after all. And it gave Yellow the time to focus on training herself. But that wouldn’t stop her expression from reflexively brightening at the familiar face, one hand stifling a yawn out of habit before waving it in the air in greeting.

Yellow… Yellow, honey…. 

Awareness of your surroundings - it is a very important thing to learn. Even if it’s the middle of the woods, surely this is the worst place to take a nap? Well… that’s what an onlooker is going to come across, at least. Don’t mind the Healer sprawled out comfortably in the grass, hat tipped over her face to protect it from the light.

Hmm? 

Yellow would give a blink, her footsteps coming to a stop. Fishing in Viridian had become quite a comfortable pastime for the Healer, but coming across others out in the wilderness like this was a little bit more rare. Especially faces she didn’t recognize, in the heart of her home turf. A point of minor alarm pinging in the back of her mind, a force of habit due to past experiences. But the huddle of pokemon at the stranger’s feet… those were all faces she recognized. Locals of the forest.

Huh. Interesting.

One of the interesting things about Yellow and her abilities, is that they are entirely supernatural in origin. They aren’t hereditary via genetics, or even gained under normal psychic circumstances. They are not the product of her own body, they were a gift from the world itself.

She’s simply one of many in a line gifted her abilities by the Viridian Forest itself - one child every ten years. Honestly, the fact that she doesn’t have parents - just an uncle who cares for her - makes the circumstances of her birth a bit suspect when put under scrutiny.

It implies some interesting things about the Viridian Forest itself which i have yet to explore into fully, but at the very least, while her abilities do classify her as a Psychic to human category systems, the origin of her abilities and how her emotions and her body interact with them does prove that she is in fact is a very, very young mage. One who still registers as human, as her abilities don’t extend beyond known or documented psychic capabilities - yet - but their source still makes her different from a regular psychic.

Psychics and their related strains may not be unknown in the Pokemon world - even accepted for what they are - and yellow is not shy about using her abilities if she wishes to heal an injury - but such abilities are still very unusual. And abilities like healing wounds and understanding pokemon even more-so.
