🐾 How to comfort your human pet when they are sick, guide. 🐾
💖 Put some WARM, not hot, soup in your pet’s favorite bowl.
💖 Let them use your lap as a pillow. No matter how tired your legs get or how gross/whiney your pet is.
💖 Leave little notes of endearment/praise by their medicine. To make sure they take it, include they will get a treat if they behave and take said medicine.
💖 Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner In bed.
💖 Let your pet sleep in your bed, make sure a dehumidifier is running. If the relationship is long distance; webcam with your pet all available hours.
💖 Buy/Send them get well soon cards/stuffies.
💖 Pet their head until they fall asleep.
💖 Put on their favorite movie while you’re gone.
💖 Crush up a Popsicle or get a slushie maker to put some yummy icey treat in their favorite bowl.
💖 If your pet can’t eat out of their bowl, feed them yourself. They will really appreciate it.
💖 Always have a blanket ready you can toss in the dryer or store somewhere cool. If your pet is too cold or hot, a warm/cold blanket is always available.
💖 Remind them how much you love them. Give lots of belly rubs if their tummy has ouchies.
💖 Let them bring all their favorite stuffies/toys to your bed.
💖 Leave vix and tissues by the bed, in case they have a case of sore throat or runny/icky nose.
💖 If your pet is suffering from a bad headache. Give them ear plugs so things can stay quiet. Dim the lights too. Maybe put on some soothing music. It depends if the music increases the headache or stress.
💖 Let them sleep with the night light on if it helps them feel better.
💖 Buy your pet some coloring books or booklet activities to keep them occupied on something other than how icky they feel.
💖 Put ginger ale in a cover cup with a looong straw. This way if they are in physical pain they don’t have to move much to get a drink.
💖 Allow them extra shower/bath time. Warm water can unclog your sinuses and help nausea subside for a little while.
