Hearing that he was alright, that he was patched up–Sansdy was allowed to calm himself down as he gave a nod. He would always worry about Sans, just like he would worry about other’s in this place, Sans was just different, he always was, and he always would be. At least to Sansdy.Â
One of those–you always want what you can’t have sort of deal. He just needed to figure out a way to tell Sans how he felt as well–though–he had a feeling he already knew and just didn’t want to be with him. So, he just never said anything.Â
I’m glad you’re alright, His signage was a bit slower this time as he was more at ease as he gave a bit of a breath. Hearing that humans didn’t care about casualties anymore–it was something that was disheartening to the younger as he turned to Grillby who just laughed.Â
“Don’t worry about me, it’s just a few more dishes. Sansdy, why don’t you go into the walk in fridge and get Sans something to eat?” He asked as Sansdy gave a nod and he was already making his way out of the dish area, letting Grillby have a moment with the other.Â
“You know, he’s quiet fond of you.” His words were as he went back to dishes. “He won’t say it though because he’s afraid you wouldn’t return those feelings.” In all the time Sansdy was here, he had also grown close to Grillby since he was the one he worked with all the time, sort of like co-workers who tell each other everything.Â
“Not saying this to have you two be a thing–although that would be nice for the both of you–I just want you to be careful what you do around him. He’s a good kid, I’d hate to see him broken hearted.”Â
Watching as Sansdy went to get him something to eat, he heard Grillby’s words and groaned lightly. Seriously, why did he have to butt in? Again.
“Grillbs, I know he is. That’s why I’m tryin’ not to entertain those thoughts,” he said, his voice hushed. “You know that it was supposed to be the two of us back in that facility. It doesn’t have to be that way here.”
Sighing gently, Sans leaned against the wall. “I’m tryin’ not to break his heart, but what did ya want me to do? It’s not that I don’t like him, it’s that he doesn’t need to hook himself to me,” he said, shaking his head. “What if they tampered with me, made me more enticin’ to him? They have to protect an investment and I don’t know everythin’ I’m capable of.”
Dragging his hands down his face with a grumble, he tapped his head on the wall. “And this is no place for him. He deserves to be free, out there somewhere and enjoyin’ life. Not trapped underground in this shithole forever. If that plan we’ve got to have a hidden spot to hold non-combatants works out, he’ll be up there and more free than he is here.”
Which meant he wouldn’t be around and Sans didn’t want to get attached to someone who might change his mind later. In a rare display of emotion, he put a hand over where his heart was. “I’m not the guy for him, I’m not who he thinks I am and I never will be.”
