the girl is clearly preening under the attention. “good, cause it’s comfy and i’m not ready to  give it up yet.”

she shrugs, but makes no response to his joke. he’s not wrong, after all. “you look like you’ve been chewed up and spit out, but we can pretend if that’s what ya want. you wanna talk about it or you wanna be distracted?”

“i’m what the kids  call ‘a petty thief.’                                                   emphasis on petty.”

“I can’t find my pants.”

“hey. you know where we are?” she doesn’t even remember falling asleep.

“Anyone ever tell you you’re hot as fuck?”

“You ever pulled The Fiddle scam before? My partner bailed on me.”

“You look like shit.” She means that in the most  concerned way possible, of course.
