unfinished jonadam fic from a while ago . just the intro unforch + some portions of an unfinished draft .
adam forces jonah to do an indoor investigation for once . it was going to explore how adam constantly shitting on jonah for his "incompetency" was really just him being a control freak and pushing anyone away who challenged any pre conceived notions of himself already . jonahs actually pretty clever once adams a little patient with him . in fact , he brings a unique skillset not even adam can hold a candle to . not even just in work , but with streetsmarts and with socializing ... among other things . coughs .
there was going to be a scene somewhere in the middle after jonah finally finishes his first round of training (an hour off schedule because he kept doing shit wrong on purpose to force adam to stay up later to see how hard his job was too) (chronically sleep deprived jonah marshall yay) where jonahs winding down for the night and talking to adam over the radio .. but then they kinda get lost in conversation and start learning things about each other they hadnt bothered to ask before . it seems this newfound respect broke a barrier between them . this is where adam wouldve shared the thing about his mom . mind you adams staring at him through the footage as jonah rustles around in bed . he can watch every little expression he makes to adams responses a lot easier than in person , where he tends to avoid eye contact . uhm . OK I RAMBLED THERE but yeah its was gna b pretty cute i think . i might restart it too .
“You’re shitting me!” Jonah exclames in disbelief, mid-laugh. He dons his usual shit-eating grin, but it quickly dissolves at the stillness
