Finally off a long shift at work, Vanitas decided to stop by the grocery store to grab a couple things on his way home. He figured sparing the need to make that trip on his day off would make things quite a bit easier. His current art project called for his full attention, and he wanted to dedicate a good portion of his day to working on it. Absent-mindedly, he picked out the particular foods he needed from the shelves, all the while thinking about the next steps he planned on executing for his artwork.
His mind was so occupied, in fact, that it wasn’t any surprise when he accidentally bumped into a stranger when heading toward the self-checkout. Not really paying attention to who it was, Vanitas mumbled some sort of half-assed apology. There was plenty to think about other than strangers he ran into (literally) on a grocery trip, he thought.
