There is a connection here with that post I saw the other day about how being performatively anti-AI can be a way to loudly declare one's commitment to "good values" without actually having to care about uplifting any marginalized communities

pokemon type strengths/weaknesses are soooo unintuitive and it's fucking my whole mnemonic system. like bug types are good against grass and psychic, which both make sense because bugs love being in the grass and they have nothing to fear from psychics because a mindreader is no match for the pure nature of a bug mind. and they're also good against dark which again, makes sense because bugs love the dark. dark is under rocks, which is famously a place to find bugs. but they're weak against rock types, suggesting that when they're under rocks it's maybe more of an oppressive situation than a chill one. but then again I hang out in houses voluntarily but would still be pretty weak against an alive house deciding to kick my ass, because that's a totally different kind of dynamic. much to think about.
