"I've always hated this village."

“Oh, uh, s-sorry.” The red head had been too busy fidgeting with her notebook to even pay attention, but this pink haired lady was scary.

…Yeah, not messing with her. She stepped to the side bashfully.

   “Of course. Just like all the others.” Megumi couldn’t help herself, speaking her thoughts aloud. Another human with no backbone. Megumi glanced at her, spying the notebook in her hand.

   “What are you even writing in there?”

    “As much as I am loathed to admit, I love your outfit. Why are you out here anyway? It’s a tad dark outside. Don’t you know bad things happen to people at night?” 

   “Excuse me. You're in my way.” This girl was lucky that Megumi had already fed, or else she would have found herself on the wrong side of her fangs. 

   That was the only downside to the city, she mused to herself. The more eyes, the more likely she was to be found out. Although the upside was that no one was going to notice the occasional disappearances she would bring about. Usually, Megumi would be looking for her conquest in a club of some sort, bringing the unsuspecting dork back to her place for a night of fun. Fun for her, that was. Tonight, however, she wanted to hunt the old-fashioned way.

   Movement caught her eye and Megumi could have crowed in excitement. Finally! Hopping down from the tree she’d been crouched in, she quickly padded along behind the person. Dark hair hm? With a tinge of white, it seemed. Too bad she hadn’t seen their face yet. That usually decided for her if the hunt would be worth it, but she smelled young blood. That was promising.

   Alright, time to see if this would be worth her while. Megumi purposely allowed her heels to clack on the ground; being noticed was never an issue.
