The reason most millennials don’t make a scene when an establishment doesn’t treat them right is because we function more on positive reinforcement than negative reinforcement. For Boomers, they can make a scene because they know negative reinforcement gets them what they want; they want to PUNISH these establishments or workers, but Millennial purchasing patterns are very different.
Growing up in the computer age, we’ve become masterful at filtering junk information, and that includes advertising. It doesn’t matter how much a politician or restaurant or whatever memes, we’ll find them funny, but we’re still not going to shop there or give them our money of we dislike them. The way brands become successful with Millennials is actually just word of mouth.
So when an establishment treats us poorly, we don’t make a scene. We simply never go back and don’t tell our friends about it. Conversely, places that treat us well we immediately go tell others about.
The simplest ways to get Millennials to support your business is to give them good economic value for what you sell (Boomers can think we’re irresponsible, but we’re actually quite thrifty), you have to treat us with dignity, but ALSO, you have to treat your WORKERS with dignity. Unlike Boomers who get off on laughing at someone working at McDonald’s, we’ve all had to work shitty, underpaying jobs and we don’t like when we go to an establishment and see workers mistreated and poorly paid, because WE’VE BEEN THERE, and we don’t want to contribute to that gross abuse of the working class.
These rich CEOs can complain that Millennials have “no brand loyalty” or that we’re “killing XYZ industry,” but the truth is that selling to us consistently requires ethical business practices that most of these companies are unwilling to partake in.

please remember that it’s okay to use popular tropes and clichés in your writing. just remember to make them your own, and put your own kinda spin on them.
don’t let yourself be stopped by what other people say you can or can’t do when it comes to writing. you are allowed to write about whatever you want, regardless of how popular it is in mainstream media.
edit: obviously, this doesn’t apply to harmful stereotypes, which is incredibly important that we do not write about! (thank you to @stormypaint for the reminder in the tags)
instead of telling people not to use tropes in their stories, maybe instead try to encourage your fellow writers to use them, but to be creative with it.
truth is that the only writing rule a writer really has to follow, is how to properly format their screenplay, or their book, not what is considered ‘’acceptable to write about’’ from one person’s point of view.
these types of writing rules, focusing on what’s considered ‘’overused’’ and therefore ‘’not okay’’ to write about, can very easily kill a writer’s creativity.
if the story is good enough, people are going to enjoy it, regardless of how overused the concept in it might be.
Me on Tumblr the night Supernatural ends, having never seen a single episode in my life:
Facts about INFJs
• tend to feel profoundly misunderstood
• absorb other people’s emotions
• have amazing insights into the future
• though they are feelers, INFJs are highly intellectual beings
• creating intimacy is their greatest strength
• true introverts
• sensitive to conflict
• know/can perceive a lot about others
• experience one-sided relationships
• constantly looking for their soulmate
• live mostly in their heads
(Found this in a really old post that no longer seems to exist ._. )
How to approach an INFJ, and build a meaningful relationship:
So there’s been a lot of people asking me for relationship advice and tips on how to understand INFJs more, so I came up with a list of some things I think are most important. I hope you find this helpful! So, here goes:
Understand their perfectionism and don’t take it as being boastful or full of pride.
Explanation: At first INFJs might seem like they’re stuck up but that is far from truth. After some time they will ‘loosen up’ and show how laid back they can get.
As introverts, they need their alone time to recharge. Don’t get it wrong, they probably had a really good time with you - don’t spiral down into self-doubt.
Never forbid an INFJ from doing something they want.
Explanation: INFJs are very independent people. They may seem dependent, but that’s because their biggest fuel is recognition and acknowledgement.
Show them you appreciate them, value them and find them needed.
Calmly point out their flaws and misdoings. Communication is key. Trust me - they want to talk about it.
INFJs mirror. If you don’t take care of yourself, they won’t take care of themselves either… Because they’ll be too busy worrying about you.
Be consistent and if you break pattern make sure you let them know why that happened. INFJs are creatures of habit.
“Please”, “Thank you”, “Bless you”, et cetera are the magic words to any INFJs heart.
If an INFJ sounds like they took a higher moral standpoint, let them know.
Don’t guilt-trip an INFJ. They will go into self-destruct mode to make up for it.
Don’t bite into the bait of loyalty check. Sit down and talk your issues through. Sometimes INFJs will get too paranoid.
Share your plans and thoughts constantly.
INFJs genuinely want to help - there’s no hidden agenda. Let them help you, for the love of god! You have no idea how good that makes them feel.
Keep the balance together. Reciprocity and sharing is key to a happy relationship with an INFJ.

What makes us INFJs feel loved
•receiving a text from someone who just wants to check up and see if we’re ok.
•someone taking interest in really getting to know us (our hobbies, dreams, interests and our inner person)
•when someone wants to hangout with us all day even if we are doing absolutely nothing.
•when we are chosen to be part of something special (a hobby, a tradition, an adventure/trip)
•when someone takes time out of their day or puts down what they’re doing to offer us help in what ever we are doing or working on.
infj things
- idea of a good time is staying at home doing nothing - listening to the rain, thunder or the ocean is an added bonus - second guessing everything when stressed - just thinking - observing other people from afar - hating people who are two-faced and selfish - phobia of crowds - knowing that things will work out eventually but needing a little understanding to feel supported - perfectionistic - too hard on themselves - wanting to know themselves as deeply as possible - opens up about feelings then apologises for doing so - can’t talk coherently but writing is the opposite - will say something extremely intelligent then accidentally run into a wall
