the great new yrs migration...... moving casey to multi @spiritsplit!

i feel like this most recent issue did such a good job in emphasizing how much casey lacks concern for himself and his own safety, but not in the way that he's unaware of it— he sees himself as a liability, in this current stage of his life. whether that's a liability to april, to raph, or to anyone else he deems close. it's not blatant suicidal ideation so much as he's been reinforced of his expendabity his entire life. his body is a machine, both on the ice or patrolling the streets, and that lack of humanity has turned into a form of self harm even he isn't conscious of. it's this weird state of limbo where he's aware, and cares, but would constantly throw himself in harms way if his distorted perception viewed that as a necessary evil. without raph or april, and even with them tbh, his thinking is very black and white, and he's goal-oriented so much that he doesn't think of the steps to get there. he just does. he threw himself off a building and nearly just died! but he's still like... oh, well! c'est la vie!
