I’ve always beem timid about publicly speaking on the issues of the world, even about the causes that are the most important to me. My silence does not mean I don’t care. I try to contribute to the world in the ways that I feel I am best at, sharing my thoughts/opinions online not being one of them. However, I don’t feel comfortable staying silent during this. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be black in this country, but I recognize how unfairly the system has treated POC and how biased the police are. I recognize so many situations with cops where I know my skin color made a difference and that’s fucked! Black people have made this world a more beautiful place, inspired me, taught me, created the music and art I love most dearly. I want you all to know I support this movement, I want things to change, and America needs to own up to the atrocities it has inflicted on it’s own people.
