Despite the legalization of gay marriage within countries such as the United States, Australia still fails to afford matrimonial rights to its homosexual citizens, as well as denying surrogacy and adoption rights in some states. Although it is clearly evident that a large portion of the population supports these causes, Australian policy chooses to reflect an antiquated attitude of intolerance, rather than embracing and accepting the new generations freedom to love who they choose, and share that love with a child if they so desire to do so. @maddyyoung

Despite multiple allegations of sexual assault and corruption, many asylum seekers within Australia continue to face offshore processing at the notorious Naru facility. These men, women, and children flee to Australia in the hopes of escaping homelands rife with violence and persecution, and are met with distrust and mis-treatment. Many Australians have gotten behind the "LET THEM STAY" movement, participating in protests and acts of public support for these asylum seekers, calling for more fair treatment. Hopefully as a united force, this public demand for policy change will one day result in Australia becoming a more welcoming nation for those in need.@maddyyoung

The difference in healthcare supports between Indigenous Australians and non-Indigenous Australians has long been unacceptably wide. This division manifests in a number of ways, such as a lack of access to basic healthcare, housing, food, and sanitation, with many facilities working with minuscule budgets comparative to wider healthcare allowances across Australia. As the years go on and the budgets for these infrastructures dwindle further (in some cases completely disappearing) it becomes more and more apparent that indigenous health within Australia is not considered an important issue to Australian politicians within the public eye, nor will these standards change without a push from Australian citizens for equality. @maddyyoung 

This is a GIF of Ann Coulter, who is a very conservative, controversial writer and personality. She has been often protested by disruptive shouting, pies thrown at her, death threats, etc from people who don't like her positions on immigration, gay rights, Islam, etc. I did this piece because I personally agree with almost nothing that Ann Coulter says, but free speech is most important when you don't agree with it.
