Nestucca Creek: (A Perennial Road Fan-Game) Summary and Review~!

The is a fan game of the original rpg forum Perennial Road and since the forum has yet to open officially, the game is largely incomplete...

WARNING: Spoilers ahead!

Alyssa's Route: -Alyssa is the introductory route to the game since she plays the role of green horn most of the opening scenes. Once you play through her route you can access any of the other main routes. Some are longer than others and obviously fill in different parts of the story. -The game opens with Alyssa crashing her car outside of Nestucca five years ago. When this happens, chose to explore outside the car rather than stay inside of it. -If you stay inside the car, you get an automatic BAD END in which one of the local demons arrives to devour Alyssa and her sleeping daughter Ilya. -When you explore outside of the car, Ilya cradled in your arms, something begins to chase you through the woods. The figure of a dark haired woman in white points the way to a small town. Alyssa takes sanctuary in what seems to be an abandoned church. She runs into Raphael Sullivan and Lilith Malvolia who are "cleaning up" after mass. Upon seeing the disheveled woman they decide some things are more important than "cleaning". However, the also ignore all of Alyssa's questions and insistence that something was chasing her. -Raphel is the local "hot priest" and Lilith is an ex-lady of the night whose soul is being "saved" by him ~Skipping 5 years later because WTF not?!~ -Alyssa has settled into her role as the head of Nestucca's newspaper and feels comfortable in her new life. -Ilya is a teenager now and doing typical teenager bratty things. Aly obviously struggles with being a single parent and completely shuts down the topic whenever Ily brings it up.

-10 bucks the whole reason they divorced and she ran to Nestucca is because he’s a bad guy... To top it all off because of the incident in the woods five years ago Aly has become obsessed with the supernatural, you know, instead of reality and being a parent... -Blah, blah, blah... -There is a lot of stuff about the townspeople not trusting Aly and her daughter because they are outsiders even though they've been there five years! Seriously people! -That night Aly sees the woman in white again, pointing into the woods. And like all hot women in horror movies she trots right on out there to see what is going on! -Aly doesn't even make it too far into the woods when she sees the priest Raphael come stumbling out of the woods, ranting and raving like a mad man. The crazy guy proceeds to strip and roll around on the ground before passing out. (You know, it's a good thing this game isn't R-18. VNs tend to take this in a whole other direction...) -Aly can chose to either help him inside or leave him there. -If she takes him inside, Raphael snaps out of it and in a crazed rage strangles her to death. In the morning, Ilya finds her mother's body and a mini-epilogue shows her being taken into the church to live and work there like Lilith. While Ily cleans Lilith and Raph discuss what to do if she saw anything... BAD END -If you let the timer run out or if you chose to just leave him there, Aly sees Lilith run out of the woods next, barefoot and her dress ripped. She slowly takes Raphael back to his own house. Aly decides to investigate what has happened in the woods. - Sneaking through the trees she is caught by Adryel, the local psychiatrist and one of the townspeople who dislike her, who is exiting a strange catacomb. He says a magic spell and she is knocked out. - In the morning Alyssa wakes up in her bedroom as though nothing has happened. But, there is a terrible pain in her back. She takes off her shirt and sees that a strange brand has appeared there. She also remembers everything from the night before... - Alyssa knows that her ideas about the supernatural and now, potential magic rituals, are not unfounded. She can chose to let things lie or investigate. -If you let things lie Aly makes plans to leave Nestucca with Ilya. When the drive out into the woods they simply find themselves at town. And it goes on... and on... and on... BAD END
