girls on film || Chihiro & Franziska
She sat down next to the older girl, bringing her small bag around her so it rested on her knees. Actually, it sort of⌠sank into her skirt and petticoat, but⌠same difference.
"Ah- actually, Iâm in my second year at Nox CentralâŚ" she said, realising suddenly that- in that moment, at least- she had become the âhigh school girlfriendâ trope. Ah. "I-I have a computer programming contract on the side, but⌠they want me to graduate before I start working for them on more than a holidays/weekends basis."
Checking the other family in the cinema werenât being disturbed by their talking (though the adverts hadnât even started yet; they were just playing the High School Musical soundtrack over the surround speakers to a black screen) she let out a contented sigh before looking back at her companion. âProsecution? That sounds so interesting! I-Iâve only ever been in a courtroom once, and it was a little scary, to be honest⌠I being in one frequently must be terrifying.â
"I read an article about you in a magazine once. You're quite the prolific programmer," Franziska mused. "Although I only know the basics of computing, the article assured me that you are something of a 'prodigy'. I have been hailed as a prodigy myself."
Franziska watched as Chihiro's bag sank into the folds of her skirt. The petticoat underneath must be quite large, she thought. The skirt was cute, but definitely not something Franziska would ever be caught wearing. She needed to appear dangerous and threatening at all times and poofy skirts just did not help that image.
"The courtroom isn't scary at all. I have only been in one a few times, as I said, I'm still a student. Although in all the cases I have assisted not one of them was a loss." Franziska smiled. Of course she hadn't lost. The name of von Karma touted nothing less than perfection.
girls on film || Chihiro & Franziska
Her nervous smile turned into a proper (if a little incredulous) beam as she scrabbled in her purse for the ticket sheâd purchased earlier. Pulling it out between two slightly shaking fingers, she nodded enthusiastically and presented theirr tickets to the woman. After the whole scan-hereâs-your-screen rigmarole, she led the older woman into the hall of finding your goddamn screen.
It was only a short walk to Screen 7- a smaller screen, since Snow Sisters: Reloaded had been out for quite some time already, and Chihiro expected there wouldnât be many people watching with them- but she slowed her walk a little, matching Franziskaâs own strides, though her heels made the steps a little more impressive.
"Oh!" she said suddenly, looking at her companion. "Iâm sorry for not askingâ please, tell me more about yourself, Miss von Karma..!" She didnât know anything about her other than her name and the fact that she was offensively beautiful, and she figured that, if they were to be watching this film together, they might as well become acquainted. Maybe more, thought the part of Chihiroâs brain that could definitely be labeled as the âgay babyâ part.
Franziska scanned the theatre for a seat. It wasn't busy at all and she led Chihiro to the back aisle and to two seats in the corner. As she gingerly picked her way over knocked over boxes of popcorn and abandoned drink cartons, she answered Chihiro's question.Â
"About myself? Hm, where to begin," Franziska pulled down a seat, brushed it with her gloves and then sat down, placing her bag on the floor and removing her coat. "I've just moved to Nox to study at Imperial University. I'll be a prosecutor once I graduate."
There were three other people in the theatre, sitting near the front; a mother and her two children. Franziska crossed her arms and leaned back in her seat. "What about you?"
happy new year, franziska. here's to HOLY FUCK PUT YOUR WHIP AWAY
Itâs not even out right now, thank you very much. How I operate my whip is down to none of your influence however, or my annoying and incompetent brotherâs, and in this coming year I reserve the right to continue using it how I see fit.
Happy New Year, Franziska. Here's to a year of calling ahead before you visit.
Hereâs to a year of putting my feet on your back whilst you are on the knees like the dog you are.

Lost on the first leg [Franziska&Nico]
"The couâ youâre a lawyer?â He understood his expression probably looked like some hellish mixture between worry, distrust and confusionâ was bringing a whip into a court even legal? What kind of lawyer was she, anyway?
However, he didnât run off at the mention of the legal system, even though he wanted to, and heâd probably committed enough intentional and unintentional petty crimes over the four years heâd lived there that the police were too busy going âoh no, not him againâ to actually arrest him for something. It did occur to him that he was an idiot for waiting for the police here, too, but he felt too indebted to Franziska, and what a moron you are, Nico di Angelo.
"Look, if you try toâ to turn me in or anything, and I donât care if you say it is for my own goodâ Iâll bolt,â he warned, his mood completely changed from the vaguely cheerful banter heâd been having just a moment ago. No- Nico was in survival mode. His clenched fists shook, and he imagined the shadows bending in around himâ he was angry, but he was also absolutely terrified.
"Calm down. I'm a law student, not a lawyer," She said. Her grip softened on her whip. "I have assisted with cases in the past, however. I have no intention of turning you in although your sudden attitude is unpleasant."
Franziska's brow furrowed and she pulled back her shoulders, placing a hand on her hip and stared down at Nico. She did not appreciate the hasty conclusions that this kid was jumping to without any real reason for it.
"Whichever course your actions now take will decide your fate. Simmer down, Nico di Angelo, or you may find yourself in a prison cell before the day is up."
An Unexpected Visitor // Franziska & Miles RP
Giving up on finding anything exciting to use as a sauce, Miles just stuck some pureed tomatoes on to warm through and chucked in a random selection of herbs. (Well, not random enough that it wouldnât taste good, but he wasnât paying as much attention to the quantity and balance as he would otherwise.) While doing this, he missed the click-click of heels being placed on a polished surface.Â
"My career is progressing admirably," he replied while prodding the pasta with a wooden spoon. "In fact, Iâve just returned from three weeks abroad helping a colleague with a tricky cross-country case." Some water splashed over the side of the pan from his careless stirring and hissed on the stove. He glared at it.
"Well, that truly is admirable. Congratulations, little brother." She said, her intonation taking on a sing-song quality.Â
Franziska had no more else to say on the matter and continued to expect the apartment from her seat. Not removing her feet from the polished dining table surface the entire time.
An Unexpected Visitor // Franziska & Miles RP
Miles rolled his eyes at her comment, retorting âMy cooking is perfectly safe, and has even been designated as delicious by some,â over his shoulder as he entered the kitchen. He peeled off his suit jacket and cravat and slung them over the back of one of the kitchen chairs. Franziska was one of the few people he felt comfortable relaxing in front of (growing up together will do that to people), and besides, he was too bloody tired to care much. He put some water onto boil, sluggishly working through what he knew of her life at the moment.
Heâd heard that sheâd moved to Nox in the hopes of studying Law at Imperial University. He dimly remembered that she was due to move in some weeks ago, but heâd been too tied up with work and the trip to make any kind of arrangement to meet her. Predictably, sheâd instead come to meet him. Sheâd probably nosed around the prosecutorâs office to find where he was living (âŚunless he did give her his address. Oh. He probably had.) or when heâd be back; the von Karma name did, after all, carry some weight behind it.
"So, how are your studies at Imperial progressing?" He called out, making an effort to engage. Stifling a yawn, he tossed some farfalle into the pan. He made sure to know all the proper names of the pasta shapes; this was the name for bow pasta. (Some smartmouthed kid had once remarked that he probably bought it because it was the next best thing to cravat pasta. He had no reply because they were uncomfortably close to the mark.) Remembering who he was cooking for, he started hunting for something to make a sauce out of, for now he had something to prove. A von Karma never backs down from a challenge.
"I'm not sure that that's any of your business, Miles Edgeworth," Franziska said, putting her high-heeled shoes up on Edgeworth's table. "My studies are progressing well, however."
Franziska looked away and around the immediate facets of the apartment that she could see. It was organised and tidy and far more lived in than hers was. She remembered the boxes that had no place yet and wondered idly if she would ever find somewhere to unpack them.
"How about you, then? How is your career progressing? I do hope you are doing nothing to besmirch the name of von Karma."
girls on film || Chihiro & Franziska
"Ahâ um, yes! Chihiro Fujisaki," she blurted. She hadnât initially gone for her full name, because she was a little nervous that sheâd be recognised from the media attention the young programmer had been receiving as of lateâ and it might come off as boasting or something. Eep.
She fidgeted with her bag for a second, her fingers brushing on the small packet of Minstrels that she was planning to smuggle in, then smiled at Franziska.
"Ah- I donât mean to sound rude, or anything, but⌠are you sitting with anyone?" Now is your chance, you big gay baby, do it. "I-I was wondering if youâd like to⌠sit with me⌠I mean, I have some chocolate bites in my bag, if youâd like to share it during.. the film.."
Franziska looked down at Chihiro. She had definitely read about this girl online at some point. What a surprise.
As to the suggestion posed to her, Franziska took a second to wonder if Chihiro was a mind reader. She raised a hand to tuck a stray hair behind her ear. How long had it been since she'd seen a movie with someone else? Quite a while she realised. It must be her lucky day; movies were boring alone and Chihiro was very cute.Â
Franziska smiled at Chihiro. "It would be my pleasure."
Put a song in my ask. I'll listen to it and come up with an AU to match it.
No obligation to write it out just a little synopsis of like a music video for it or what youâd find on the back cover of a book.

girls on film || Chihiro & Franziska
She nodded through Franziskaâs explanation of her heeled habits, almost embarrassed by her entrancement with how⌠confident this woman was. She was gorgeous, everything dumpy, lithe Chihiro dreamed of being, and her heartstrings tugged a little watching the girlâ even when she was glaring at her reflection in the mirror.
She was gorgeous, she was amazing, and Chihiro Fujisaki you are hopelessly out of your league.Â
Realising sheâd fallen behind slightlyâ and was probably blushing furiously, Chihiro, you are a messâ she stuffed her makeup back into her tiny white messenger bag and nodded furiously at the taller girl, giving her one of her trademark I-am-a-mess-of-nerves smiles.
"I-I am!" she said, matching her steps with her tiny white Mary Janes. "Oh, umâ Iâm Chihiro, by the way⌠whatâs your name?"
"My name is Franziska von Karma, prosecuting prodigy. Do you perhaps have a surname, miss Chihiro?" Franziska asked, suddenly feeling uncomfortable at not being able to refer to this girl by her full name.
The cinema foyer was busy with people buying tickets and snacks and drinks. Franziska did consider getting some popcorn to take in with her but she had a bottle of water in her bag and that was enough.Â
She stood for a second wondering if Chihiro would sit with her in the theatre. Although Franziska preferred to do many things alone, she couldn't deny that the company of a cute girl would be amiss. These opportunities were rare in life and you have to grab them when they present themselves.
Lost on the first leg [Franziska&Nico]
As Franziska phoned the police, Nico found his attentions split between the woman on the phone and the unconscious mess on the floor. If the guy regained consciousness before the police got there, things could get nasty; still, he felt the need to make conversation. Franziska *had* kind of saved his skin, after allâ possibly literally, even.
She put the phone down, and he nodded at her. The police werenât his favourite peopleâ but Nico had had a fair share of gang violence, and to think that he might be marginally more safe for a few weeks was certainly a relief. He kept one eye on the guy on the ground, but turned his attention to Franziska properly this time.
"So," he said, gesturing to her other hand. "A whip, huh? Do you usually carry one with you?"
Franziska held a hand to her forehead. This question was one she got a lot. She didn't expect any less, usually when people didn't question the whip she wondered about the validity of the thought processes that person went through. She tightened it before wrapping it up and tucking it under her arm.
"Usually, yes. It is somewhat an extension of myself," She said, then smiled. "I use it to keep people in line. You'd be surprised the kind of fools that make it into the courtroom at times."
Stop that thief! [Franziska & Hiroomi]
The girl - woman? Hiroomi couldnât tell at the speed she was travelling - seemed so entirely enraptured in the capture of the criminal that Hiroomi felt his presence might only serve as a detriment, especially after the cold look sheâd shot him over her shoulder, but he hurried after her regardless.
In fact, this running was actually starting to warm him up a little. Maybe he should chase criminals more often.Â
Hiroomi hesitated momentarily behind her, his eyes darting between the two paths, finding himself at a loss. However, a tiny blur of colour alerted him to the presence of the robber darting down the path on the right.Â
He pointed at the flitting shape, panting as he breathed out a, âThat wayâŚâ before speeding off once more.
Franziska nodded and followed the boy's lead. They needed to be quick, already they could have lost the degenerate, but this was not so. As they came to the end of a road, Franziska spotted the thief and skirted around the boy, running to the thief. They had backed themselves into a dead-ended alleyway and Franziska stopped, holding a hand up to the boy too.
"We must be careful here. They could easily attack us to escape, keep your wits about you and follow me carefully." She said, turning to look him in the eye, trying to read his expression, see if he understood.
Meetings and Burgers
Maya watched as the man working at the counter ran over to the back after leaving two cups of soda on it. One was small, and one was.. ridiculously large. The same could be said when the actual food arrived. How Maya stomached this and could still easily go for more was one of the many mysteries of life.
"Thatâll be 400 zenny" Maya rummaged through her bag and pulled out a tiny colorful wallet and then some coins placing them onto the counter and taking the receipt "Thank you!" Maya spoke taking the tray, she couldnât wait any longer to eat.
"We should find somewhere to sit!" Maya wore a happy smile and looked around, she soon found a clean table and skipped over setting the tray onto the table. It was recently cleaned too, so there was no need to clean it herself. All that was left was to enjoy the food.
Franziska took a seat at the table, stooping to brush at leftover crumbs with her sleeve and then sitting. Maya seemed to almost be bouncing with excitement as she picked up her burger and Franziska raised an eyebrow. She shook her head, not in negation of anything in particular but purely because her fringe had fallen into an odd position and it was bothering her.
The shaking didn't change it and Franziska reached up to move it aside with her hand. She then reached out and began to select singular fries, nibbling at them lightly.
"How long have you been in Nox?" Franziska asked Maya, not looking away from her food.
Shine Forth {Open}
Yumichika walked down the well lit side walks. He liked the Christmas season for itâs light displays and tree decorations. Smiling a little as he took a sip of his tea - not coffee surprise surprise - and looking at the various light displays. He was content to walk around in Noxâs down town, ignoring the cold in favour beauty. Shame they did not always decorate like this, it spruced up the grey of concrete.
A noise caught his attention and he looked over across the street - carollers. He stopped, considering crossing to listen, watching them with his head slightly tilted. They were, he thought, quite good, and with that in mind he decided to brave the few cars on the road.
Crossing quickly he lingered on the edge of the small crowd listening to them, admiring their dedication. It was bitterly cold out and they did not have the benefit of a hot beverage with them. Clapping politely when they ended he turned - and almost bumped into someone. âApologies,â he said, even though they had not actually collided. âI was distracted by their talent.â
Christmas had passed. It had been a boring Christmas for Franziska and she was glad to see the back of it. New yearâs was approaching and winter had just begun and altogether it was looking to be a dreary few months.
For about the fifth time since her arrival, Franziska had neglected to buy shopping at the scheduled time and opened her fridge one evening to find it empty. Reluctantly she donned her coat, scarf and hat, grabbed her bag from the kitchen counter and ventured into the darkened streets of Nox.
The supermarket near her apartment had knocked down a lot of its food prices in the Christmas aftermath and Franziska managed to pick up a weekâs worth of shopping for a lot less than usual.
She exited the supermarket and stood for a moment. The crowds moved by hair and bumped into her but she paid little attention to their movements. The sky above was devoid of light, aside from the sliver of moon that presided over twilight hours. In the centre of a city this big you couldnât see the stars.
Music snapped Franziska back from her reverie and she looked to see a group of carol singers standing on the opposite side of the street. They were good at what they did and Franziska crossed to listen more closely. The song came to a close and someone bumped into Franziska. Her expression darkened and she turned to give out a reprimand.
"Talent? Ah, yes, I suppose they are quite talented," She said. "Although I do feel that their ability to hit certain notes is somewhatâŚunreliable."

An Unexpected Visitor // Franziska & Miles RP
Edgeworth was momentarily at a loss as to how to respond. He settled for a frustrated sigh and a pained wince. While dealing with Franziska could be difficult at the best of times, he was particularly not in the mood right now. Heâd been hoping for a quiet flick through the accumulated newspapers and an early night, but no, his adoptive sister had an uncanny knack for showing up at the worst of times. He could almost feel a headache coming on.
"Franziska, much as I appreciate the thought, I have just returned from a long and tiresome trip and badly require some rest myself." He paused. He know full well she wasnât going to leave with just that. He shook his head, ran a hand through his hair, and headed to the kitchen.
"Iâm having pasta; want some?"
"I came all of the way out here to see you, and this is the reception I receive? I'm wounded," Franziska said, briefly resting a hand on her right shoulder. "If you are cooking I'm not sure the food will be safe, but I am hungry and so I will concede. I would like some pasta."
Franziska crossed her legs and smiled serenely as Edgeworth walked to his kitchen. She knew that her appearance all of the sudden was most likely unwanted, he had insinuated so himself, but she couldn't stand being in the same city with him not knowing she was there any longer. It had been luck that she had chosen the day to visit that he would return from a prolonged absence.
(Yes...definitely luck...there definitely were not any computer databases involved in the acquirement of such information, and a certain cute programming prodigy certainly did not assist Franziska in accessing said databases...)
Lost on the first leg [Franziska&Nico]
He watched the gang retreat, then stood up shakily. âThanks, but- why are you paying me?â All he could think of was that he was being an idiot, why wasnât he just taking the money and getting out of there, but someone had once told him that he was as honest as he was dense, andâ he felt guilty. âI didnât even get you to your house, and this whole thing was my fault. I will stay to help with the police thing.âÂ
(He still took the zeny, though. Hell, he hadnât even specified an amount, and he hadnât been expecting a noteâ- he might be honest, but he wasnât a fool.)
He exhaled shakily, and looked at the guy on the floor in repulsion. âMiseria pezzo di merda," he spat, restraining the urge to give him another kick for good measure.
"It is true that we did not reach our initial objective," Franziska said. "However, I still feel that you deserve some from of compensation for..."
Franziska nudged the gang leader with her foot. "...this."
Nico took the note from her, despite his protestations and Franziska smiled. She was glad he had accepted; she would have found a way to ensure the note ended up in his possession anyhow.
When he offered to stay and assist with the police inquiry, she frowned. "If you're sure that's what you wish to do then I will not try to convince you otherwise. Let me call them..."
Franziska took her phone from her coat pocket and phoned the station. They informed her that someone was on their way. All that was left to do was wait.
