Alice looked at the new arrival, raising her head from her her paperwork.

“Bonjour!” she greeted with a smile, putting her pen down. “May I help you?”

Alice tilted her head. “Oh? Haven’t you seen ze plate on ze door with my name written on it...?” she asked, kind of surprised he didn’t notice that.

“Looks like I should have spread it around that it was my idea! I could’ve made a fortune from those other copycats in the force! I tell you, pal, it’s real hard to come by store-bought confetti, so we loyalists-to-tradition have to make our own from scratch!”
