deadpan wit aside, his mouth was dry at the prospect of them being — for lack of better phrasing — sent for by the king of gods. he won't claim to know giovanni's mind or personal affairs, won't assume that he's no desire to meet a god or two, but he will assume from gio's tone and intended-exit his fellow demigod has little to no interest in facing zeus nor jupiter, whatever the circumstances may be. and oh, how fickle and agitated the god's could be over nothing. hoping his father is not the one to hear him, he risks a quick and hasty prayer that they've nothing to worry about.

gio doesn't need to work to convince jason of anything; the other turns on his heel and the son of storms is rerouting to follow, no argument nor question on his tongue. except, of course, the obvious.

they weren't dogs to be called to and fro.

as if hearing gio's words (and his thoughts) a whip of lightning lashes across the sky, thunder following mere seconds later. he wonders for a moment, how many unruly grandchildren zeus must have–  and if in this moment, gio is the one that holds his ire most of all.

pelted by rain, giovanni's shoulders darken– the deep navy fabric of his shirt plastering itself to his skin. they needed to continue their search, and while there was a growing tingle up his spine and light forming behind his eyes, he knows that he needs to get out of the rain before his father sends him a vision of something truly awful–  and ends up drowned in a puddle... or something equally as dramatic and anticlimactic.

" i didn't used to understand them— they confused me and were disorienting— but i do now. " he pauses, sky blue eyes drawing up from where they had counted the cracks in the concrete beneath his sneakers, and continues : " are you sure you wanna know what i saw? "
