Today is a very special day because I just finished an 8-day training course! I thought it would be the perfect time to try out my new foundation, even though I picked the wrong shade (oops!). I've raved about this product for years, as it gives a dewy, bright complexion. I remember it looking so good on my mom's mature skin as well.

This time, AVON's Perfect Radiance Liquid Foundation has let me down. To be fair, I made some mistakes: the shade I purchased was too light, and I may have sprayed Focallure setting spray too close to my face—something I have never had an issue with when using other foundation brands. I wish I were simply making excuses for the foundation I have loved.

Important Tips:

AVON offers different shade ranges for each product and brand, which means you can't solely rely on the shade name, code, or magazine swatches. I often find myself purchasing a shade that ends up being too light or too dark. Fortunately, since I do makeup for others, I have other foundations that I can mix and match.

This specific foundation is the lightest among AVON's options, so unless you have very fair skin, I recommend trying Medium Wheat. While I'm already quite fair, I can't use this foundation when I have a tan.

When applying, use only a small amount. If the foundation cakes up, consider skipping the setting spray. Also, if you plan on using additional sun protection, avoid using sunscreen, as it may react poorly with this foundation. I’m not sure if they have changed the formula, but I didn't encounter this issue in the past. Today, I experienced creasing and melting of the product on my neck due to sweat, where I had only used a setting powder. You can imagine my dismay when I noticed it after I got home!

Update: So far, using the clay mask once a week, followed up with a hydrating mask has calmed my pimples. The cleansing oil is also effective in getting rid of "ripe" blackheads. Although, I still prefer the ones that dissolves-in-water type. Avon Nutraffects used to have one and it was so good!

I have been waxing since I was 16. I don't do it professionally, but I have burned and bled enough to think I should share with you what I have learned.

1. The pros and cons of both methods are: Hot wax: opens the pores and pulls the roots better leading to faster recovery and less to no bleeding. This also prevents ingrown hairs. However, most will agree that is more painful and messy. Inexperience in eyeing wax temperature can burn your skin.

Cold wax: the method for beginners/low pain tolerance as this is just like pulling scotch tape from the skin. It's also so quick to get done by a professional. The biggest disadvantage is the high risk of getting ingrown and infection if not done properly. It's also harder to find a product with the right consistency as it melts easily on warm skin or room temperatures.

2. You need a kit! Always use cornstarch powder on the skin so the hot or cold wax doesn't stick and irritate your skin. Rubber gloves should be worn to protect your hands and nails. Use cotton wax strips to easily peel off the wax.

3. Pick a brand with simple natural ingredients. I like the ones with honey, aloe vera and beeswax (for hot wax).

I found a quality local cosmetics brand that is also cruelty-free!

Power Lip Matte

The shade Bow is described as "a soft berry color" which means this is a mauve. This perfect MLBB shade will suit a wide range of skin tones. The consistency upon application is very buttery and dries matte. Unfortunately, it can crack and be erased if you eat oily food. I had to reapply it after eating carbonara. Prep your lips well before applying this product. Below is how it looks under natural light. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Superfine Line Retractable Eyebrow Pencil

I got the shade in Mocha which is the perfect neutral shade of brown. I hate it when brown pencils are too reddish. It's not too dark and therefore buildable. This will compliment any hair color, I tell you. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ever since the lockdown, I have noticed that almost everyone I know are having breakouts. As someone who is also suffering from hormonal imbalance, it was my struggle too. Aside from getting hormonal treatment, my skin got better when I discovered these masks from AVON. They were able to address my concerns which are: dry and dull skin, blackheads and pimples.
