Mumbles   from   the   man   underfoot   go   mostly   ignored   by   the   Sheriff,   save   for   a   tut   of   disappointment.   He   looks   a   tad   worse   for   wear,   all   caught   up   in   thick   netting.   There’s   a   myriad   of   reactions   from   passers   by.   She’s   become   used   to   it.   “Think   nothing   of   it;   I   believe   this-”   she   holds   out   a   slightly   tattered   purse,   dirty   brown   with   frayed   drawstrings,   “-belongs   to   you?”

“Where   in   goodness’   name   did   you   get   an   idea   like   that?”   to   look   at   them,   you   wouldn’t   think   the   brash,   reckless   Vi   and   the   cool,   straightforward   Caitlyn   could   work   together.   Word   around   the   wardens   was   that   they   didn’t   see   the   duo   lasting.   Truth   be   told?   the   Sheriff   couldn’t   imagine   being   partnered   with   anyone   else.   She   was   quick   and   clever   and   loyal   to   Caitlyn’s   cause.   She   made   up   for   the   areas   in   which   the   sniper   lacked;   pieces   from   two   different   puzzles   that   still   manage    to   fit   together.
