Text from Zach: Tuition or an annuity to keep your boy toy comfortable for life. Which would you rather have?
[text: Zach] Neither. The boy has someone caring for him. And I am no charity case.

Edmund knew that nothing that Zach did was ever selfless. Whatever he’d wanted from his career, clearly he was about to get it. “You are still going to need your law team to read through whatever it is that you are going to continue to use as a supplement for your income.” It was as much of a warning as the vampire sought fit to give Zach. Even if he still disliked the man, Zach had made his life temporarily more comfortable. “Your way always has a catch. I’m surprised you aren’t a djinn.”
“True, I will. If you want I can continue to send you some of the work....at a hefty fee, I’m sure.” He doubted the man would take him up on it and losing Edmund’s input would be a blow, but he’d come around to the notion that the man was never going to go with him after graduation anyway.
He stepped up to the vampire and smiled, pulling him into a short, ghost of a kiss. “I will miss this. Miss you. Despite your best efforts to the contrary, I enjoyed your companionship. If they leave with you with any fond memories of me or if you just find yourself in need of a job, come find me when you graduate. I’ll leave you alone otherwise. Consider that your reward for your service.”
