Does your character have a favourite Pokéball? Which ones do they use the least?

“I’m partial to friend, love, and luxury balls, but I’m not that picky. I use a plain pokeball the least, just because they’re the least effective!”

Are there ‘troublemaking’ Pokémon on your character’s team? If so, how do they tackle these troubles?

“I don’t know if trouble is the right word, but my Applin likes to wander off and nearly get eaten often. My eevee knows how to get out of his pokeball, and then my lopunny doesn’t like people who get too close to me. There’s no good management solution other than to keep a close eye on them.”

“I believe I’ve seen glimpses of legendary birds and beasts. I’m also pretty sure I’ve seen the shadow of Lugia under the water, but I’ve been called crazy for saying I have, so... I mean, I’ve been all over the world. I’ve seen bits and pieces, but I’d barely call them a true encounter.”

Pokemon on the Ranch:

Having completed the gym challenge over twenty years ago, Jensen has more than the six he keeps on hand. As these extra six were the ones he used to complete his gym challenge, he keeps them on the island (on the ranch) to call on when necessary, as well as if he needs demonstrations for students. Overall, the island is meant to be a retirement for them.

Name: Daisy ( ♀  Togekiss) Ball: Love Ball About:

Daisy was given to Jensen as an egg by the gym leader of his hometown (Laverre City). She has a deep and lasting bond with her trainer, as she helped him complete his gym challenge before he decided to become a breeder. He still visits her regularly and, due to her nurturing nature, likes to help around the ranch.

Name: Canyon ( ♂  Rhydon) Ball: Great Ball About:

Canyon was one of the first pokemon that Jensen ever caught. As a rhyhorn, he was rather stubborn and prideful but became much more laid back on his journey with Jensen. While he used to be competitive, he now prefers lounging around the ranch as students dote on him.

Name: Lapis ( ♀  Vaporeon) Ball: Heal Ball About:

Lapis was caught as an eevee. Jensen chose to evolve her with a water stone to balance out his team more than anything, though it fits her calm and rather calculating nature. She is the mother to his current eevee - Cocoa.

Name: Rumble ( ♂  Gogoat) Ball: Luxury Ball About:

Rumble was caught as a gogoat. That said, he still became close to Jensen and they have a close bond. He’s often seen with Canyon, lounging around. He tends to have a calm and wise demeanor -- and secretly likes helping play with the baby pokemon with his vines.

Name: Miasma ( ♂  Chandelure) Ball: Ultra Ball About:

Miasma was caught as an incredibly mood and mischievous litwick. As the years have gone on, he’s become a calmer Pokemon -- though he does occasionally get scolded by Jensen for playing tricks on the freshmen in the breeder program.

ampy tilted his head at the on coming hostility from the other pokemon. he made a soft hum in response to the other two. slowly he started to spark up. however, once gabriel exited the stalls, ampy stopped his motion and stepped out of his friend’s way. 

gabriel lifted his eyebrows. “well, this one is taken care of. if you still need to see buzzy, he’s been a bit jumpy this morning. fyi, i would not go in there without some sort of metal rod. unless you’re in for some shook therapy to get you going this morning. i would recommend coffee though; less chance of ruining that pretty face of yours.” 

Jensen momentarily got nervous when the other ampharos started sparking, and was relieved when his colleague appeared and calmed the pokemon down. The last thing he wanted to do was get between two agitated ampharos...and an even angrier lopunny.

“Well, as long as you think he’s okay. I don’t usually worry too much about taking shocks though with Ion around,” he replied, motioning towards his ampharos -- who tended to be able to handle doses of electricity. As the other started to call him pretty, he tensed up and looked over at Peach -- who he swiftly picked up as she kicked wildly at the other. “Um. I’ll be fine. I prefer tea anyways. Besides, I have some old friends to visit today.”

While definitely not Jensen’s first pokemon, she is one of his closest. He caught her as a buneary quite a few years ago and their bond is impeccable. She tends to be overly protective of him and often kicks people who start to flirt with him.

She wears a lopunnite around her neck.

Name: Ion ( ♂  Ampharos) Ball: Level Ball About:

Ion was caught by Jensen as a mareep. Like Peach, he is very attached to Jensen, and the two of them are often out of their pokeballs following him around. He tends to be more laid back than his rabbit counterpart though.

Name: Puddles ( ♀  Politoed) Ball: Lure Ball About:

Puddles was caught as a poliwag. She’s incredibly laid back. She also tends to help Jensen when Peach gets too uppity and holds her back. Most of the time, however, she can be found sleeping. 

Name: Aries ( ♂  Dubwool) Ball: Heavy Ball About:

Caught as a wooloo, Aries has been with Jensen quite awhile. He’s a rather quiet pokemon and can be standoffish towards those he’s not familiar with. Jensen often takes naps outside cuddled into Aries (and he’s ever so happy to spend the time with his trainer).

Name: Cider ( ♂  Applin) Ball: Friend Ball About:

Cider is a newer addition to Jensen’s team. He’s something of a space cadet and often wanders off to get in trouble. Jensen has had to save him from being mistaken from food before. Other than that, he often sits on a desk while Jensen teaches.
