On the face of it, this is what’s happening in this scene: the guy on the right claims to be Layton from the future. Layton is exposing him as an impostor by asking about the color of the pen in his pocket, the premise for the question being that the actual future Layton would have already lived through this moment and therefore remember the pen.

Idk if the creators designed him to be attractive or if I just like him because he's a dork and also the villain

According to google, there were limited color broadcasts during the 50s, and color televisions started to take of in the early 60s

This one is loosely inspired by art noevau style posters. I wanted to try something on that stile for some time, and I saw a picture of a liqueur label with that stile, and decided to finally do it.
