hi dear! You have an amazing blog, was wondering if I could request head cannons of killua with a strange nurse reader? She is too kind, naive and compassionate for such a job. Her strangeness doesn't lie in the sharp steel of her character contrasting with her fragile appearance or her lack of wit. On the contrary, : she's not a typical doctor. She's not punctual, she's not collected, she's not stern and cold-blooded all at once. Her distinctive traits are her dreaminess and gentleness. Always daydreaming and fantasizing about the most silly "what if" scenarios with the sweetest smile. And has too idealistic views like love is in everyone and I believe in it.
I hope the request isn't too strange, thanks anyway.💓
Killua x Strange Nurse!Reader headcanons 💉
1) Killua notices you long before you notice him. You’re the only nurse who doesn’t stare at him like a walking weapon. instead, you greet him with that soft, floaty smile like you’ve just stepped out of a daydream. It throws him off so badly he forgets how to act intimidating for a moment. He’ll blink at you while you ramble about “what if clouds were alive?” and think, …is she serious?
2) Your gentle, innocent nature confuses him. Killua grew up around people who are calculating, emotionless, and precise. You, meanwhile, forget where you put your clipboard because you stopped to admire a butterfly. You bump into walls because you’re thinking about “true love definitely existing somewhere.” Killua has no idea how you survive daily life, so he quietly starts trailing behind you to make sure you don’t walk into traffic.
3) Killua pretends he goes to the clinic for “routine checkups,” but he’s really there to see you drift down the hallway humming, your hair messy from rushing in late again. Every time you drop something or get distracted by your own thoughts, he mutters, “You’re hopeless…” but his ears turn pink because he finds it adorable.
4) The first time you treat his wounds, you apologize for every tiny thing, even putting on bandages too gently. Killua keeps telling you, “You’re not hurting me,” but you still look at him with big eyes full of guilt like you accidentally stabbed him. He’s never been handled this delicately in his life, and it makes his chest feel tight.
5) You’re the only person who makes Killua freeze by saying the strangest, whimsical questions. “Killua… what if flowers could talk? Do you think they’d gossip about us?” He just stares. He wants to say, “No?? Flowers don’t have mouths??” but he doesn’t want to ruin your dreaminess. So he sighs, shrugs, and plays along: “Probably. They’d talk trash nonstop.”
6) Your idealistic belief that “love is in everyone” makes him uncomfortable at first, not because he thinks you’re wrong, but because nobody has ever said anything like that to him. Killua doesn’t believe love is everywhere… but when you say it, smiling with unshakable sincerity, he kind of wants to believe.
7) Killua becomes extremely protective of your softness. When other staff talk behind your back about you being “too airheaded” or “not meant to be a nurse,” Killua steps in immediately. He doesn’t start fights, but he finishes them. “She’s doing her job just fine,” he says sharply. “Maybe worry about yourselves instead of stalking her every move."
8) He memorizes your schedule better than you do, even though you’re not punctual. Killua knows exactly what days you’re likely to oversleep and which shifts you get distracted buying snacks on the way in. He’ll show up at the right times just to make sure you’re safe, pretending, “I was just passing by.”
9) When you tend to his wounds, you often ramble while fixing his bandages about fairy tales, stories, love confessions you overheard in town. Killua listens more closely than he wants to admit. Sometimes you sigh dreamily and say, “I hope you find someone who loves you gently, Killua.” He always looks away and mutters, “Yeah… whatever.”
10) Your softness ends up grounding him. When Killua feels restless, angry, or like he’s slipping into old habits, he seeks you out. Your gentleness, your warmth, your floaty optimism… it calms something wild inside him. He’ll sit next to you while you hum a quiet song, head leaning against the wall, and think, Maybe it’s okay to be soft sometimes. And when your head naturally rests on his shoulder mid-daydream, Killua doesn’t move an inch.
