“I am,” Kokichi assured Hoshi-chan, kicking his discarded clothes aside and putting on the kigurumi. Since it was adult-sized, it was too big on him, adorably baggy. Kokichi made a cat-pawing motion, despite the over-long sleeves flopping over his hands, and said with every ounce of cuteness in him, “Nya~~n!”

“You don’t have to tell me that. I was already going to!” Kokichi whipped out the full-sized black-and-white cat kigurumi he’d been hiding behind his back. “I just thought you might want to get in on the fun, but! Ohhhhh well!” Then and there, Kokichi began to strip out of his clothes. He was putting the kigurumi on right now.

“Hey, I won’t let that slide, Hoshi-chan! Look at this cute face!” Kokichi poked himself in the cheek. “I was born to wear a kigurumi! In the cutest possible way! You should be honored that I invited you to share in my adorable splendor!”

“You gave up on wearing a big one with me. That’s quitting.” Pout. Sulk. Puppy eyes.

“Yes,” Chihiro confirmed. They’d been trying to work out more, but there was only so much they could do with routine exercise and weight-lifting. And… it was becoming clearer to them, that despite all desire to get stronger, their body had limits it would be difficult to overcome. 

Besides, if they wanted to become stronger physically and socially, the best way to do that would be to start playing a sport that necessitated other people. There weren’t many sports Chihiro felt their body was up to, because of how short they were, but… Hoshi-kun being able to excel at tennis despite his body type gave them some meager hope that it might be possible for them to play it passably, too.

Although… Hoshi-kun’s reaction didn’t seem too enthusiastic about the idea? “Um… I’m sorry to ask if it’s a bother… you don’t need to feel obligated if it’s too much trouble…”

Ryoma wasn’t thrilled about the idea. Of course he wasn’t—he didn’t have ANY hopes of playing tennis, not ever again. No, that part of him was dead, it was in the past. He would never relive that…even to teach someone who was earnestly interested in the sport he held so dearly. It was admirable, for someone who didn’t seem very sports-like to attempt to learn and be SERIOUS about it, but…there was no helping the matter. In his mind, it was settled.
