If questioned on the subject of love, David will either claim he’s unfamiliar, or stumble into a self-deprecating joke. He’s actually been in love before, and had the feeling reciprocated. But that’s one of the many bits of his life he doesn’t quite remember.
He tends to laugh Valentine’s Day off, while harboring a secret resentment for it. There are repressed memories somewhere in the dusty corners of his mind. They have to do with this holiday. But he’s nowhere close to remembering them.
