Don’t think you’ve ever answered this, but what got you into the D.isgaea series? Also do you play any of the side games?

nope. it's exactly as i have already stated tbh: one day, i turned on my psp to play, screen went black. i plugged it in to charge, turned it back on, tried to play something, then the screen turned black again. rinse and repeat, until the screen permanently turned black and it no longer turned on no matter how many times i plug in the charger :,))

i think i also stated this before, but i've played everything mainstream to the franchise that is not on the ps vita (don't own one), or anything exclusive to japan! as for side games, i played d.isgaea infinite, both p.rinny can i really be the hero games, m.akai wars (mobile; used vpn to play until i dropped it due to language barriers/no time), currently playing d.isgaea RPG (daily player). i want to get other nippon ichi games like m.akai kingdom, soul n.omad, and la p.ucelle, but alas, no time to play :,)) i also have p.hantom b.rave bought on STEAM! i think i also played D1 on the NDS, psp, and PS2 bc i loved it so much 💕

somehow i knew you'd ask me this lol -- honestly, i can't choose between them; i love both, so hence, i didn't exactly specify which female witch design from either games. D1 was my very first d.isgaea game, so i was introduced to D1's female witch design first and her maid outfit stuck with me for a while, but the female witch from D2 and onward is just so cute and iconic by this point, i truly can't choose between them 😭

i have! i've played all the d.isgaea games except the ps vita ones (i don't own a ps vita 😔😔😔) or anything that is exclusive to japan

i will admit i am biased since i have played D1 and D2 (mainly D2) the most out of all the games -- and while i did play D3, i don't think none of them stood out to me too much. i'm probably just too attached to D1 and D2, but if i had to pick a D3 character i like, probably r.aspberyl (i love l.aura b.ailey's voice) or a.lmaz.

i do have generic favs, it's just that i preferred the original characters over the generics as a kid. (i LOVE female samurai... she has my heart... i also like female witch, D1's male healer, female healer, the cute female thief, slumber cats 💕, and i lowkey miss the cool majins from D1)

yes! archangel. (i just like her in general and i needed a pic of her for my page, so i just chose a random one i had that showed her archangel form lol)

Yeah, I am interested in some of the families as well. Some of them are mentioned in the games, sure, but according to, IIRC, an NPC somewhere said that demon parents sometimes abandon their offspring, which is a bit sad, but they ARE demons. Some families that I am curious are though are Jennifer (she did create Thursday when she was 5 after all), Axel’s dad, Mao’s mom, Sapphire’s&Rutile’s dad, Raspberyl’s parents, Stella’s mom, Valvatorez, Fenrich’s parents, Seraphina’s mom, Red Magnus family.

interesting.... i remember i was still a minor back then so i didn't have money of my own to buy DLCs, but i never really used zetta either since i was clearly biased towards my favs lol

sorry, i couldn’t be of much help then! the good ol’ days for me was grinding for weeks and hours in cave of ordeals, think to myself “yeah this level seems about right for that stage i still need to pass,” and then either get a hit or a miss when i enter the stage and check enemy levels lmao 😂😂 

that’s fine! i’m chill with discussions here, although i feel sorta bad about spamming this blog with them in case there are still some people following this blog. i’ll keep long responses below read mores from now on so people don’t have to scroll so much 👌 

and as for the gameplay thing, i just meant i don’t have much to say/complain about it lol. but i guess i do miss the relationship function from DD2 where you can raise a character’s relationship with another character. i found that really cute, so i was disappointed to see it being removed from the other d.isgaea games 😔

yeah, i was surprised too! back in the day when digiflonne still had their site active, i think i saw some scans of them?? not sure if the web archive saved them or not tho, i haven’t checked. my memory of flonne’s family is spotty, given that it’s been years since i saw those scans, but i think her mother loved doting on her (which even flonne found embarrassing lmao), same for her father, and i think she also has a younger sister (don’t remember her name tho 💦).

the actual console battery died. i remember plugging the charger in, but my psp never turned back on and i was screaming in horror for a while 💀 i would get a new one, but alas, my life is just getting busier these days 😔 

you’d probably find a few videos about beating baal/prinny baal easily on youtube, considering how popular he is :O i remembered i always avoided battling baal bc i’m prefer playing for the story lol, i wasn’t really someone who wanted to complete everything as long as i enjoyed the story 

i do have D1 and D2 on STEAM, and i also have D4+ complete on STEAM too! i have D5 in my STEAM cart, but i’m gonna refrain from buying it for now since i acknowledge that i rarely have time to play games anymore 😔 ALSO, PETITION TO HAVE D3 ON THE STEAM STORE TOO, NISA/NIPPON ICHI GIVE ME D3!!!!!!!!!!!! 📢

i tend to care more about the lore/story than actual gameplay for most of the games i play -- so i guess, if i had to pick anything i would like to know for the games, it'd be how did the whole exchange between king krichevskoy and baal went down (like, i want to see the whole fight between them, along with words krichevskoy could've said??? i was always curious about it when i was younger. also, i wanna know more about f.lonne and l.aharl's respective families since they show up in the light novels that were never localized 😭).

Of course without needing braveheart/magic boost

okay. i wrote an actual long reply to this, but my page went white and i somehow lost everything i typed in the past 30 mins 🤡🤡💀 so i will just sum up what i basically wrote:

my psp batteries have completely fried up years ago so i cannot double-check everything, but i assume you're referring to D1 since Winged Slayer is exclusive to D1. i didn't unlock Marjoly's castle yet in the STEAM version of D1 either, so i could only google for videos. sadly, none of them seem to show Beauty of Evil maxed out with stronger enemy bills.

so, i will simply advise to be above lvl 6000 and have your current equipment maxed out from the item world. (i'd suggest having a bunch of Arcadias to equip.) i suggested lvl 6000 because i remembered i always had to pass lots of stronger enemy bills if i wanted to get any sort of grinding done in Cave of Ordeals. (also basing the number off from Baal, who is lvl 6000 at base level. Marjoly must be weaker than him, even at max level (?), and also Zetta who is lvl 3200 at base.) if i'm wrong about this, then at least your high levels will help cushion any damage you may get lol

i don't think there is a definite answer from me about power/attack stats since those pretty much just depends on your current level and equipment. i'm an old-school person who went full force using raw attacks because i was a dumb kid who didn't use much strategy, but if Baal's base stats are around 394,000, then it's okay to assume anything higher will be okay for Marjoly at max? i honestly level up to lvl 9999 and used raw force on her tbh

i'm an art major, not a math major, so i cannot help with actual numbers/statistics 😭😵😭, but maybe this guide would help? section 5.05 Skills List seems to break down leveling up skills nicely with a list of percentages. leveling up skills seem to give off a 5.5% boost each level up, so maybe you can consider that? :o i never use Braveheart/Magic Boost that much myself, so this is beyond my brain capacity lol

no problem! idk if it's because i'm just getting Old, but i understand appreciation blogs fading out and becoming archives through my time on this site -- i think it may also be due to the d.isgaea tag here not having much content in general in comparison to more popular series like SxF 😔
