and while we’re on the topic of this, I feel like people in power have a say in limiting queer rep. so many sapphics, especially gen z lesbians, don’t see good rep and don’t understand lesbian history so they emulate heteronormative ideology. for example, masc lesbians that hate on butches or masc4masc relationships because it’s “gay” (yes, I see the irony here, too). they are putting homophobic straight male logic onto lesbians and I have a lil inkling that it’s because they don’t have representation telling them that it’s okay.
