Miorjah's 2026 backstory is plagiarized
Before proceeding with this post, I recommended that you read both backstories in full and form your own opinions. Miorjah's full 2026 backstory can be found here. Belle's full backstory can be found here. Do not harass Miorjah, Belletrist or anyone mentioned.
Recently an anon sent me an ask saying Miorjah had opened their toyhouse, including Miorjah’s 2026 backstory. While both characters rely heavily on tropes and will have similarities, Miorjah has taken this a step further, as multiple passages are directly copy and pasted from Belle's FA page.
Neither Belle nor Miorjah own any of the tropes used in their stories, no one owns unicorn characters, princesses, enchanted forests, soulmates, etc. Even the word "licorne" is just the french word for unicorn. Neither of these creators make original content and their harassment towards other creators was, and still is, abuse.
According to the internet archive, Belle's backstory has existed as it is in the current day since April 11, 2018. Miorjah has been aware of Belle since at least October 1st, 2018. Belle leaving a comment on Miorjah's FA page on that day, thanking them for the follow and saying she loved their work. Both were mutually aware of one another and their content.
Belle disappeared off the internet in January of 2020, but left all of her accounts, writing and purchased commissions uploaded. Miorjah’s current story, written years after Belle's, is nearly identical. It copies the same worldbuilding, narrative progression, imagery, prose, and even specific wording choices.
Both stories revolve around a race of anthro unicorns called licornes, both described to be an ancient magical royal species, admired for their beauty and power. In both stories, the licornes are specifically described as collectors/keepers of knowledge who built massive libraries full of “scrolls and tomes beyond count.”
Belle: “Collectors of knowledge, the licorne royals built the Great Library, home to scrolls, tomes & treasure beyond count.”
Miorjah: “Keepers of knowledge, the Licornes collected scrolls and tomes beyond count, creating a grand library spoken of the world over.”
In both stories, the licornes are written to be victims of a genocide because their body parts possess magical properties. Specifically mentioned: their hair, blood, hooves, and horns.
Belle: “Licorne hooves, horns, hair, tears and blood all held tremendous magical power.”
Miorjah: “It was in their hair, their blood, their hooves, and most of all, their horns.”
The princess protagonists themselves are also incredibly similar. Both Belle and Miorjah are the last surviving licorne princesses and heirs to fallen kingdoms. Both are raised in enchanted castles hidden deep within a magical forest, and isolated from the outside world. Both are portrayed as shy yet intelligent, romantic women obsessed with fairytales and love stories, and adored by everyone around them. Both stories center around the princess slowly losing everyone she loves as her people are hunted into extinction.
Belle: “Everyone Belle loved began to leave.”
Miorjah: “everyone she loved began to disappear.”
Even the structure of the backstories follows the exact progression and narrative structure.
• Introduction to the licorne kingdom
• Description of the licorne's magical abilities and history
• Explanation of the genocide against them
• Birth of a special princess
• Idyllic childhood in an enchanted castle
• Education in arts and sciences
• Gradual death of loved ones
• Isolation inside an overgrown magical palace
• Animals becoming the princess’s only companions
Both castles become abandoned ruins overtaken by ivy and nature. Both princesses wander empty halls with descriptions of listening to the echoes of their own footsteps. Both survive off specifically flour left in castle kitchens and berries gathered from the surrounding forest. Both spend their lonely days surrounded by animals while dreaming about romance and escape.
Belle: “captured the heart of nearly everyone she met.”
Miorjah: “captured the hearts of all who met her”
Belle: "There is flour in the great kitchens, and what the castle does not have, the little Hartl'icorne gathers from the forest."
Miorjah: "The kitchens remained filled with flour and the forest with berries and herbs."
The only major difference between Miorjah and Belle’s stories is the inclusion of Fenris. Belle’s backstory does not end with her being kidnapped, nor does it feature a main male character. Instead, it's open ended, likely because Belle as a character was originally created for roleplay. Belle’s user profile even directly links to their F-list account, which has been publicly connected to the character for over a decade.
However, the exact concept Miorjah later uses, a destined lover searching for the one woman capable of bearing his children, his "perfect female", eventually discovering the isolated princess hidden away in an enchanted forest and taking her with him, already existed as a plot idea on Belle’s F-list profile years before Miorjah wrote it into their own story.
Miorjah has continued plagiarizing another creator to this day, hosting writing on their wix website written by their former art manager, despite the author both privately and publicly asking for credit. Plagiarism is an intentional act, you do not directly lift material from multiple people you shared a community with by accident. Inspiration and genre overlap stops being a convincing explanation when the similarities become this extensive and specific.
There are likely many more examples of Miorjah directly taking from Belle, or others that hasn't been documented yet. Considering how many people Miorjah has allegedly harassed out of the community, or offline entirely, over accusations of copying their character, it’s important to point out just how much of Miorjah’s “original story" is either lifted from existing media or stolen from others.
