Sometimes you meet someone, and it’s so clear so immediately that the two of you, on some level, belong together. As lovers, or as friends, or as family, or as something entirely different. You just work, whether you’re in love or creating things together or foxhole buddies or partners in crime. It’s so clear, right off the bat, that this is what you’re supposed to be doing, that this is what you’re for. You meet these people throughout your life, out of nowhere, under the strangest of circumstances, and they help you make a life. I don’t know if that makes me believe in coincidence, or fate, or sheer blind luck, but. It definitely makes me believe in something.

why is long distance such a deal breaker for people?? do u know how many valuable friendships I wouldn’t have if we hadn’t committed to making it work long distance?

apparently some of yall consider friendship and love separate entities… but I very much love my friends. fully. and it is not easy to be long distance from them, but it is worth it. what I wanna know is what people who heavily dichotomize friendship vs romance think that romantic relationships are built on?? what else, if not friendship? if you cannot be friends with your lover then your love will not prevail. platonic love is just as necessary as society paints romantic love to be, and if you treat your friends as a temporary stand-in until you get a romantic partner then you are probably not a very good lover or a very good friend.
