Atticus wasn’t one to judge others based on first impressions or especially what others told them about people, really the latter told them more about the person talking rather than the person they were talking about. “Really I think we should take more time to enjoy the universe that surrounds me but I know that I’m not always agreed with on that subject,” They offered their hand to the stranger, “I’m Atticus.”

romeo shrugged. he took time to definitely appreciate the smaller things in life but lately, he’d been distracted. all of this marriage stuff was putting a damper on his mood - especially since the girl he was betrothed to hated him. he gave the man a soft smile, “i’m romeo. it’s nice to meet you.”

If Scarlet was honest she hadn’t even noticed how quiet it had become until he had pointed it out. She shook her head with a soft smile, “I didn’t even notice.But I was focusing on making sure my marshmallows don’t burn. You know that’s kind of the worst.” She didn’t mind having someone talking to her she just wasn’t in the mood to go out and find someone herself.

“i don’t think burnt marshmallows are that bad. i think it adds flavor.” romeo joked, a smile playing on his lips as he glanced over at the girl seated next to him. “i guess i’m just the first to notice things like that. i don’t really like quiet places. not usually. i like to have something fill the silence.”

“Exactly.” He was finally getting the concept, good. Now to see if he would actually stick to it, or if he would go come up with some terrible plan. Graham smiled, that wide, politicians smile he’d gotten from his father, a hand finding Romeo’s shoulder. “And just so we’re clear, I’m with my sister. And if you do anything, if you hurt her in anyway…well I’m the one who usually talks her down from hurting people. And I won’t do that.” 

romeo felt conflicted. he felt like he should keep pushing but at the same time, he really was worried that it would only make the girl hate him more. he looked at the male as he placed a hand on his shoulder and pursed his lips for a moment. “how exactly am i supposed to hurt her if she doesn’t want to speak to me?” he questioned. “you told me to leave her alone and that’s what i’m going to do.”

“I mean leave her alone.” Graham didn’t think it was that hard of a concept to understand. He pushed off of the roof finally, landing with a hard thud on the ground and straightening up again. He wandered a little closer. “Look, she’s my sister and obviously I want her to be happy, but nothing about this situation is going to make her happy. Your best shot is to leave her alone and I guess just hope that she comes around.” He didn’t think that would ever happen, but it was worth a shot. 

romeo nodded, “right.” he cleared his throat awkwardly and shoved his hands in his pockets. “i’ll leave her alone then. that’s clearly what she wants.” he added. he hoped his parents wouldn’t call him later and question him about everything because he wouldn’t know what to tell them. “we’ll see, right?” he mustered up a smile, enough to attempt to show her brother that he wasn’t affected by the situation. 

“Yet,” Graham couldn’t help but point out. Usually, he trusted his parents judgement. But ever since this entire scenario had begun, he was beginning to question the choices they were making. Not that Elle was a bad match for him, more the fact that he had been paired with anyone at all, when they all knew he was just going to die. “Maybe just…leave her alone? And definitely avoid giving her any kind of queenly duties. She’s really not a fan of those.” It was the best advice he could give, in regards to his sister. 

This was definitely not going to end well, watching his reaction to the news. Graham could already see Rochelle learning how to twist and push at the tightly wound gears of the kid until he snapped, because as much as he loved his sister, he knew that she was not a good person. She did a lot of things in order to get her way, and many of them were not good things. “It doesn’t mean that she does, either. She would have to actually know you, to hate you.” He didn’t know how helpful that logic would be, but it was the closest thing to comfort he had to offer. “Right, because not wanting to be married clearly means that you don’t find anyone attractive in any way.” 

Charlotte slapped his arm at the mention of not eating all day. “You’re joking!” she’d exclaim before shaking her head. “Don’t make me put you on food watch, three square meals a day dude.” she’d tease the other before letting out a laugh. “The foods alright, the companies decent.”

romeo let out a small laugh and looked at the girl, “come on, i’ve been busy. i started the day walking through downtown athens and then ended up relaxing on the beach. i just forgot to eat. i was enjoying my time out.” he informed charlotte. “the companies decent? i think i deserve a better rating than that.”

Unfortunately, it wasn’t Graham’s place to spill secrets that didn’t belong to him, and he didn’t think it would help anyway. He didn’t know how to explain Rochelle in a way that would make sense, either. She was difficult and wild and not made to be tied down, and he understood the feeling. His own engagement was pressing on him more and more, as he did his best to shut it out and not think of it. “Hate is a strong word.” He offered, intent on avoiding a direct answer. ;“She doesn’t want to get married, and you were unlucky enough to get between her and our parents in that matter. I don’t know if she’ll ever give it a shot, because that would mean giving up, to her. And all things aside, you’re not, exactly….her type.”

sisi looked over to the brunette prince, surprised she had been recognized. but she was happy it wasn’t an italian who was vacationing and recognized their princess. “ciao,” she greeted, looking to the water and then back at him. “and if I know athens better than you?” there was no harm in a little fun, right?

romeo let a chuckle escape his lips and he shrugged softly, “then i wouldn’t be surprised. i’m still attempting to find my way around.” he informed the princess and pushed his fingers through his hair. “so, think you could show me around?”

luis laughed and nodded, he picked up his own lotion. “what country are you from?” luis asked, he couldn’t help but notice how pale the other was. he thought maybe a european country norway maybe?”

“iceland.” romeo replied, a small smile on his face. “where do i seem like i’m from? i wonder about that a lot.” he added and glanced back at the man. “where are you from?”

Graham tapped his thumb against his bottom lip. He could see where Rochelle was concerned here. It wasn’t so much that Romeo seemed bad, it was just…well, Graham wasn’t really sure what kind of person would actually be good for his sister. “She’s uh…” he tried to think of a good way to put it. “She doesn’t really hate many people, she’s just, ah…” there really wasn’t an easy way to say it. “Well, she’s going to chew you up and spit you out. I hope you survive, I guess? Best wishes, rest in peace?” 

romeo pulled one hand out of the pocket of his pants and pushed his fingers through his hair out of worry. what would her brother think? he was a huge people pleaser and he wanted everyone to like him and maybe that’s why it was bothering him so much that rochelle didn’t like him. well, that and the fact that they were supposed to get married at some point. “but she hates me, doesn’t she?” he asked, almost before the man could finish. he pursed his lips and glanced down at his shoes for a moment before looking back at graham, “so, you’re saying that she’s like that toward everyone or just me? i’m honestly just trying to be her friend. it would definitely make things easier if she gave it a shot two but from the sound of it, that’s not going to happen.”

“Ah,” Graham said, as soon as the kid turned. Really, it wasn’t actually kid, they looked to be about the same age. But Graham had always felt timeless, older than all of his peers. Maybe that made him an obnoxious brat, but he didn’t mind. In any case, he recognized the other off of Rochelle’s description and pictures off the internet. He held his camera up a little more obviously. “Picture, but…” He let it fall to hang around his neck, shifting and sitting on the edge of the roof. “You look pretty much how she described you.” 

romeo knew he wasn’t all that mature. or well, it wasn’t that he was childish but more like, he liked to make people smile and so if it meant cracking jokes here and there then that’s what he’d do. it took him a minute but once his eyes really focused on the male in front of him, he realized who he was. and even more so when he spoke. his eyes lit up slightly, “so, she’s talked about me? she doesn’t actually hate me, does she?” he wasn’t sure if her brother would be honest with him or not.
