Raise every glass

Long ago and far away in a village high on a mountaintop, something amazing was occurring. At the very same moment, two identical baby girls were born.

Well, I’ve been in love with the ‘Villain wants to marry Heroine’ trope since I existed on this Earth, basically--which is probably also why I have such strong memories of this particular Barbie movie, since it involves that trope. 

I find something cathartic about exploring the dynamic between an older man who desires to marry (or otherwise possess) a younger woman, especially when she is responsible (or at least involved) with his defeat; another reason this movie has probably stuck with me for so long, because Anneliese can definitely stand up for herself against Preminger’s bullshit.

I do think your own personal definition of shipping might come into play here. 

If shipping means to you, ‘These two characters have a healthy (and possibly canon, if that matters to you) romantic relationship and I enjoy consuming content about them along that same vein’, then yeah Premiliese probably isn’t your cup of tea. 

However, if shipping to you means, ‘A romantic (or otherwise close) relationship between these two would likely be unhealthy, and that would be interesting for me to explore’ then you are on the same page as me.

edit: Also, shipping to me doesn’t mean the characters need to actually be in a relationship, like confirmed romantic partners; usually for me it often involves only one of the characters (in this case Preminger) having particularly strong feelings (that he absolutely hates having, I must tell you) towards the other character (Anneliese).
