BIOGRAPHY

Before Serafina was in mortal form and known as a Lariviere, she was an immortal creature born beneath the caverns of Mount Olympus. Strong, ferocious, and entirely unforgiving, men quaked in fear at the sight of her. She considered herself more beautiful than Aphrodite and more battle-savvy than Ares himself. She longed to join them on top of the Mountain, to prove herself to gods and men, but her vanity was her downfall. When her sister Medusa was seduced in the Temple of Artemis by Poseidon and punished for her actions, her sisters stood beside her. Stheno believed she knew better than the Fates, and the three beautiful women were cursed, transformed into horrific monsters. The Gorgons had brass hands, sharp fangs, venomous snakes for hair, and a glare that could turn any living thing to stone. Of the sisters, Stheno was the cruelest, unafraid to take her torment out upon the throngs of men constantly attempting to slay her.

When Cronus offered the three sisters the chance at a new life, Stheno was the first to agree. As a Lariviere, she was destined from birth to become a High Priestess of the Waywyn. She is merciless, unafraid to give sacrifices of any kind to the gods she merely pretends to worship to her own ends. She is independent, refusing to submit to any ideologies not her own. Above all else, she is proud, holding herself like a queen even in unlikely circumstances. She still views herself as a Gorgon of Olympus, and even now, her glare can halt a man in his step. She demands nothing less than equality in a world so determined to keep her low. In many ways than one, Serafina is the most ruthless of her sisters. She demands the respect and attention of any room she walks into and reprimands those who do not comply.

The woman hides her vain pride behind the guise of love for her sisters. She’s wrapped herself in a layer of self-righteousness that she’s beginning to believe is true, so it came as no surprise to any of her family when she suggested they pack their bags and head for the last remaining safe place in the Realm. She travels there to finally prove herself to those who turned her into a monster. She was just a simple girl once, beautiful and naïve as her sisters were… but the Gods took it upon themselves to once again play with the lives of those below and damned her to a life in darkness. Her hatred runs deep for the old Gods; if they wanted a monster, she would give them one.

PAST SELF

Of the three Gorgons, she was known to be the most independent and ferocious, having killed more men than both of her sisters combined. In Greek mythology, she was transformed into a Gorgon because of standing with her sister Medusa, who was either raped or seduced by the sea god Poseidon in the Temple of Athena.
