the best thing i ever learned to do was to exist without expectation. after grinding to get two degrees, working high stress nursing jobs & fighting to stay awake for 12 hours on night shifts, i learned so much about myself and what i deserve.

i deserve slowness. i deserve the chance to be self assured without needing achievements to solidify my self confidence. i deserve to bask in the moments i once cried and begged for.

nursing school forced me to constantly be productive and stressed out for YEARS. the pressure i put on myself to have 7-8 hour study sessions & panicking about failing exams made me feel like i did not deserve rest unless i fought for it. unless i accomplished task after task and passed test after test.

it’s taken some time to allow myself to just be. to allow my work self to be completely seperate from who i am at my core. i am so thankful to have a safe haven for the days i need it the most! 🩷
