The Legend of Billie Jean (1985) Matthew Robbins – (2/5)
This is eighties as hell in all the worst ways (including uses of the F slur in either end of the film), the lead character doesn't really become the lead until about halfway through, and then the Joan of Arc inspiration/parallels really go overboard to the point of drowning the rest of the film. On the upside, you've got a bunch of before-they-were-stars (pre-Lisa Simpson Yeardley Smith and a very clearly future-JD-but-bleach-blonde Christian Slater) trying their hardest to help out in supporting roles, so at least it was a good stepping stone to better things.
