The sudden, unnatural movement from the man startled them a bit, and they find themself standing back, their hands up to steady him if needed.
“AH- ARE YOU… ALRIGHT? WAIT-”
They retrieve the salve they’d found, noting the blood staining his shirt.
“HERE. THIS SHOULD DISINFECT AND NUMB THAT. DO YOU HAVE ANY STRUCTURAL DAMAGES?”
They recall the ropes in their pack - not ideal for holding broken bones in place, but better than nothing. Why did organic life have to be so complex and inconvenient to mend? Placing the ropes and some paper in a pile on the ground with a couple more salves - just in case, they know that humans are frail - the bot turns back around to face the animate tree.
“I WILL FEND IT OFF WHILE YOU REPAIR YOURSELF.”
William groaned, unable to speak but his head jerked in a way that could resemble a nod. He fell to to a knee shaking, only faintly aware of the way his body moved on it’s own, applying the slave onto himself when he knew that he had no idea how the thing even began to work⎯
He couldn’t keep thinking about it, the ringing in his ears drowning out the thoughts and the whispering kept getting louder and louder⎯ if he tried to focus he could faintly make some of it the wailing out⎯
He quickly stopped his attempts, heart and head pounding, sweat drenching him.
Creatures flitted across his vision ( hallucinations ? ) trying to close in, monsters of made of shadows bared their teeth at him, kept at bay by memories of his past circling around him as if in dance. Not for long, he knew, they wouldn’t be kept from their prey for long.
It was hardly as if he were in any condition to fight them, not when he was already losing the battle to keep conscious. He faintly registered the sound of battle as his body tied ropes together⎯ when on earth had it started doing that ?⎯ before his eyes slipped close, taking relief in the darkness that greeted him.

William startles, and Wormwood does just the same. Cactus spines stand on-end almost like a cat bristles for just a moment, before the plant creature relaxes again. Though, now it holds the situation in more cautious regard. After all, he frightened this poor person, and that’s the last thing Wormwood wants to do.
“No, no, sorry for scaring you,” he shakes his head, and cautiously draws a little closer to get a better look at this survivor. “Walk quiet, scares.” He doesn’t refer to himself directly, but he believes it should be clear enough that he means himself.
There’s a pause to think, before Wormwood offers a leafy hand. “Name… Called Wormwood. Good to meet you!”
Good heavens.
William did his best not to stare, his eyes flitting about, but he couldn’t help himself just a tiny bit. A being made of plants⎯ nothing at all like anything he’d seen before or been told of. Not to mention the gem embedded within them.
He relaxed slightly more when the creature⎯ was that rude? Heavens, he had no idea how to go about this⎯ spoke. It⎯ They? He? Wormwood, he called himself, seemed friendly at least, apologizing even. William could feel the voice at the back of his head perk interest at that, although it remained dormant for the time offering no retort or advice.
❝ It’s, ah, it’s nice to meet you as well Wormwood! And it’s quite alright, I simply hadn’t expected to run into anyone out here. ❞
He hesitated a second before taking the offered hand gently. He didn’t want to accidentally hurt the creature, although warily eyeing the spikes William would be far more likely to end up the one hurt if anything.

The mime perks up at idea. He nods eagerly and clasps his hands together, a pleasant smile on his face. Most survivors weren’t willing to find a middle ground, leaving him unable to communicate. Playing charades didn’t very well help in emergencies and spent a lot of energy.
He let out a silent breath he hadn’t realized he’d been holding when Wes agreed, another idea that came to mind brought a hesitant smile to his face. William ( putting the balloon hat safely on the floor for the moment ) stretched briefly before raising his hands to his side.
❝I haven’t seen much of it before, I’m afraid, only in the passing here and there. However I must admit that it did quite fascinate me those few times. The language seemed almost like... magic.❞
At the word, he flourished his hands about and when he brought them to a halt, a black knight chess piece laid lying in one of them. He snapped his fingers with his other hand and with another flourish it seemed to have disappeared into thin air, he spread his fingers apart to show that his hands were truly empty. His smile grew a bit more confidently and he snapped his fingers again, the smile quickly turning into a frown when nothing happened. He tried snapping again, a bit more impatiently, but to no avail.
❝Oh dear, that’s not good, unless... ah, I see.❞
He leaned forward, hands stretched outwards with a frown of concentration before pulling the missing knight from out behind Wes’ ear.
❝ It’s always the knight who misbehaves,❞ he tsked. Leaning back his smile grew more nervous, his confidence quickly disappearing.
