Samara’s icy blue gaze focused on Obi-Wan as if she were trying to peer deeply into his soul. Her thoughts wondered towards her mission, the one that led her through the Abandoned Mass Relay and into this galaxy. What she was doing now contradicted the very point he was trying to make, for it was her own daughter she was tracking down to kill… but she won’t tell him that… it is much too personal.
“Please do not misinterpret my intentions for what I am about to say, I mean no insult. However, it seems a shame that your Order would have such little faith in its teachings and servants. So much so it would have to resort to grooming children for stronger control.
As I have stated, my people view taking the Code of the Justicar as a serious path in life, a path with many hardships from the very start. Many do not even survive the training. It requires such a heavy sacrifice in life, that one mustn’t take the decision lightly. After we learn all we must and have taken the mantle, it is a commitment we take with us to the grave. Our code must come before even the families we leave behind.
Though there is logic in your words; attachments can lead one astray, however the more you forbid something, the more it is desired. Sex for example is such a desire that can tempt many. The Justicar Code does not forbid romantic involvements, as it trusts that I would chose the code over a lover. If my lover were a criminal, then I would take their life. That understanding does make relationships complicated, luckily for me I am nearly 1000 years old, those days are long behind me…”
The scans would show little blood from an adult female, not enough that would be fatal, perhaps an injury to force her to comply. Tears on the wood under the table perhaps from the frightened children. “We should rest, in case we are met with resistance.”
Samara took a moment to consider and then nodded. “It matters little to me; I’ve faced more dire odds than this in my 4 centuries as a Justicar, but I’ll trust in your judgement. You are familiar with this world, we’ll do it your way for now.”
That is unless their caution leads to the slavers getting away. If it seems like they are running out of time, Samara will go in and kill every slaver with extreme prejudice.
She looked back at the site and noticed some crates “Looks like they have yet to load the rest of their supplies onto their ship. We have time before they leave.”
Obi-Wan took in a deep breath. He closed his eyes and stretched out through the Force. He could see the whole deck. Several dozen boxes yet to be loaded, with only two men - big, but still only two - stacking them in the cargo hold.
Then four - no, five! - armed guards stood nearby. One was leaving. Passing weaker lifeforms. The prisoners! A female, and one, two, three younglings…oh. The male was there, but his life force was fading.
The forth armed gaurd met with someone else. Perhaps the captain? Now they are walking further down the hall. And there is a pilot awaiting instructions.
Obi-Wan opened his eyes and relayed the information to Samara. Eight enemies in total. Four…perhaps three…prisoners.
Samara kept an eye on the scene while Obi-Wan focused in on the force. From where she was she could sense the innocents' fear, and the total indifference of their captors. This reminded her of the many times she had come across Batarian slavers with their human "stock". These were mostly human, with another species she wasn't familiar with along with one mech.
When Obi-Wan reported what he managed to scope out, she nodded. "Alright then, 8 enemies and 4 captives." She confirmed, pulling her assault rifle from its holster. "When we are close enough, I can form a shield around the captives to protect them from gunfire. Are you ready?"
