Today is Prestory's 2nd year anniversary!
I don't have much to show right now, sadly. Partly because my computer is dying and I need to get a new one, and partly because I've been a bit busy as of late (I say that a lot, but busy-ness does hinder passion projects).
I'll let you guys know what I'll be working on with Prestory and the whys.
> Coloured outlines for characters, or anything that needs to be distinct from grayscale background. (Prestory's artstyle is intended to have very little colourful things, but I'd like to enhance what it is coloured. Things I want to be noticed should pop more.)
> Grayscale pallette needs to be fixed up. (I kinda just used whatever when it came to the graytones in the backgrounds and objects, and the some of the grays were too close in colour that they looked essentially the same.)
> Blood pallette needs to be fixed up. (Not too long into Prestory I regretted the colour I used for blood. It's too vibrant and unnatural. Now that I'm overhauling looks, I might as well do it too.)
> Retconning pages that clash with the tone of Prestory, or detract attention. (This one might be controversial. My reason is that I want to be proud of Prestory, and treat like an actual comic instead of something half-baked. It will mostly be pages that interrupt pacing, that might get deleted. Some might just get their text changed. If I delete a page you enjoyed, I apologise.)
> Next floor needs its rooms to be finished.
> Puzzles need to be finished. (Yes! Puzzles! When I started Prestory, I liked the idea of having a problem with no clear solution but giving tools to the readers to creatively find a way out. I tried it, and I didn't like it. It feels lazy. So instead I will be making problems with an intended solution, but whether or not the reader does it and how they go about doing it, will be their creative choice.)
> [spoilers stuff] (Can't go into much detail on this, but I'm working on more story stuff.)
> Streamlining page-making process for ease. ("Streamlining? Isn't dragging and dropping drawn assets streamlined already?" God. I wish I did that. Every single object in the rooms had a separate folder that held its different parts, and different states. It's a mess. I know all this to-do list might make it seem like I'm doing a big undertaking that might kill the project, but this bulletpoint is the most important. I don't want Prestory to be something that I struggle with making, and have to wrestle with myself to get pages done. Making the process of setting up rooms, moving objects, drawing action pages, and other things an easier task would be the hiatus-killer.)
I can't give a clear date, or month when Prestory will be back on its feet once again. Things have been unpredictable, and I've trying to hold myself together. But I promise that Prestory will come back. And I will do my best.
