Survivor

It was around midnight and Preston was still awake when he got a text from Dahlia. She asked him to come over, and he figured he might as well. He didn't have any other plans and she wanted him to, and it'd been so long since they hung out, so he saw no point in saying no. She had asked him to bring icecream and candy, which he had none of. Therefore, after he threw on a white tank-top and a pair of jeans, he grabbed his keys and headed out of his house.

The beginning of his stay in the neighborhood seemed to be really packed of drama, but suddenly, everything seemed to be calm. It was weird and he couldn't bring himself to enjoy it. It gave Preston too much time on his hands. Recently, there was so much pressure and him being forced to show emotions, so it was nice to be able to go over to Dahlia's and push away the rest of the world. Maybe for once, his thoughts wouldn't be so loud. He liked to find things to occupy his mind. All of this solitude wasn't really doing him any good.

Once in his car, he started it up and began to drive up the road. Thankfully, there was a little store about two minutes away that stayed open twenty-four hours. He walked inside and headed over to the freezer section. He pulled out a tub of icecream and headed for the check-out counter. Once he placed the icecream before the cashier, he picked up some candy off of the nearest shelf and threw it up there as well. After his items were rung up, he took out his wallet and paid the man before he exited the store.

Dahlia: yaaaayy

Dahlia: bring candy too. the door will be open because i'm too lazy to get up

Dahlia: ayyyy

Dahlia: i'm bored. come over

Dahlia: and bring ice cream. lots of it.

Preston: heyyy

Preston: alright, give me like 30 minutes
