More than a century ago, Britain was celebrated as the birthplace of the industrial revolution, leading to decades of global development. After more than 20 years of use in industry, 3D printing is now becoming a reality in homes, this time leading to the promises of a revolution in creativity, mass personalization and the empowerment of consumers. However, many challenges remain ahead and as hyped as it is, 3D printing is limited to the world of makers, tinkerers and hobbyists. Indeed, the cost of acquiring a 3D printer is non negligible and the knowledge needed to manipulate 3D printers is still non trivial. Presspin believes we can achieve the promises of 3D printing in a different way.

We believe that access to 3D printers is more important than the ownership of a 3D printer.

We do not believe in the magical general purpose 3D printer.

We believe that the skills needed for creating and designing are not the same as the skills needed for making and building.
