I honestly still kind of yearn for a thread with Owen going back to help Echo, as apart from Blue she had the highest survival chance in the battle against the Indominus - but not alone. Charlie was gone before the fight even began, and Delta got tossed into a restaurant and fried extra crispy - but Echo was simply grabbed, went limp, and got tossed offscreen. That leads me to believe she survived that initial attack, but likely died sometime thereafter from internal injuries (i.e. broken bones - a raptor can’t exactly chase prey with a broken leg). Considering the fact that she’d taken a much lighter hit than Blue, she probably came out of it with a few fractures at best, breaks at worst, but nothing immediately lethal.

     She knew something was there. He was downwind; the smell was strong, it indicated where he was. She knew the scent. It was not the same, but it was similar enough to her former captors. Similar to the ones she’d EATEN in times passed. The human was in her domain - her territory. An intruder. Huffing, the Rex lowered her head to the right of him, left eye studying him. Trying to work out where he was. Of course, she could see him clearly - but to her, he registered as part of the scenery, not as a living being. Not as food. He wasn’t moving.

     The massive animal’s head raised into the air, letting out a roar, and when her head snapped down to eye the spot where he stood again, she still saw nothing. Agitation became clear in the Tyrannosaur’s behavior. Where was he? Where was the invader? She began stomping around him, as if kicking around, trying to make him move, force him to show himself, but he had the good fortune of being missed every time. Finally, she tried following her nose again.

     The jaws of the beast were inches from his face. A snorted exhale, blasting him with hot air, the sweet and repugnant scent of rotting flesh. Another huff, followed by a drawn-out growl as the animal nudged him. But again, she saw nothing. She stared for a few moments longer, immeasurably annoyed...and finally decided it wasn’t worth the effort for something so small. She saw none of the vehicles or equipment that her captors normally assaulted her with. She decided it wasn’t a danger.

     Turning away, the Rex stomped back into the path to Paddock 9, letting out a mix of a howl and a groan as she returned to her paddock. To her nest. If he dared intrude further, she would make a much more committed effort to finding him.
